Brief description of the problem/issue: Fleet Services must procure a tractor that was approved for the 2024
budget. Weld County Code allows for the use of Cooperative Purchasing at the discretion of The BOCC.
What options exist for the Board? The Board has the option to approve or deny this purchase.
Consequences: If approved, Fleet Services will move forward with this purchase utilizing the
Cooperative Purchasing Agreement.
Impacts: If denied, Fleet services will begin the formal bid process for one tractor.
Costs (Current Fiscal Year / Ongoing or Subsequent Fiscal Years): $58,640.80 total.
Recommendation: Fleet Services recommends The Board approve utilizing Cooperative Purchasing to procure
(Qty 1) Ventrac Tractor Model 4520N.

Subject: Cooperate Purchase- QTY 1 VENTRAC Tractor and Attachments.
The Weld County Facilities Department requested one Ventrac Tractor with attachments in the
approved 2024 budget. County Code Section 5-4-100 allows the County to participate in cooperative
purchasing agreements. Sourcewell is one of those cooperative purchasing agreements. Fleet Services
is recommending utilizing Sourcewell contract number Toro # 031121-TTC-2 to procure this
equipment. The pricing for the Ventrac tractor and attachments is attached. The placement on the
agenda for this was approved by four of five commissioners.

Digital Slope Gauge
Recommended for operation on slopes.
A The engine may operate between 20° and 30° for up to 10 minutes. If 10 minutes is
reached, the engine must be returned to 20° or less to assure proper oil lubrication. After
returning to 20° or less, the intermittent cycle can be repeated. The 4520P Kawasaki DFI
engine is rated for 30° continuous operation and does not have this requirement.

The Ventrac Sidewalk Drop Spreader is the ultimate tool for
spreading an array of deicing materials with precision flow
control. Designed with a narrow frame and a 40" drop pattern,

Material is evenly distributed using a unique compression
roller system. An easy gate adjustment allows for fine tuning
flow rates based on the type of material being spread and the

Snow Vehicle into the ultimate pre -treat machine. Pairing
the Ventrac SA250 Drop Spreader adds 200 lbs. of granular
capacity to the ultra -maneuverable SSV and allows operators
to drop salt in a 40" drop pattern at speeds up to 10x
faster than walk -behind equipment. The system's accuracy
keeps material within the sidewalks, ensuring no damage
to surrounding turf or landscaping. This adapter is also
additional to the onboard salt capabilities of the SSV, which
means it's even possible to pair the SSV brine system for use
around steps and entryways while simultaneously dropping
granular material on the sidewalks. This results in the
