A regular meeting of the Weld County Planning Commission was held in the Weld County Administration
Building, Hearing Room, 1150 O Street, Greeley, Colorado. This meeting was called to order by Chair
Elijah Hatch, at 1:30 p.m.
Roll Call.
Present: Elijah Hatch, Skip Holland, Butch White, Michael Wailes, Pamela Edens, Michael Palizzi, Michael
Biwer.
Absent: Virginia Guderjahn, Barney Hammond.
Also Present: Chris Gathman, Department of Planning Services, Matthew Conroy, County Attorney, and
Kris Ranslem, Secretary.
Motion: Approve the June 4, 2024 Weld County Planning Commission minutes, Moved by Michael Wailes,
Seconded by Butch White. Motion passed unanimously.
Case Number: USR24-0010
Applicant: Sunlight Farm, LLC, c/o Pivot Solar 59, LLC
Planner: Chris Gathman
Request A Site Specific Development Plant and Use by Special Review for a Solar Energy
Facility (SEF) in the A (Agricultural) Zone District, outside of subdivisions and
historic townsites in the A (Agricultural) Zone District.
Legal Description: Part of the SE1/4 of Section 11, Township 6 North, Range 65 West of the 6th P.M.,
Weld County, Colorado.
Location: West of and adjacent to County Road 47; approximately 385 feet north of County
Road 70.
Chris Gathman, Planning Services, stated that the applicants are requesting a continuance to the August
6. Planning Commission hearing to allow for more time to work on water and irrigation issues. The
Department of Planning Services supports this request.
The Chair asked if there was anyone in the audience who wished to speak for or against the continuation
of this request. No one wished to speak.
Motion: Continue USR24-0010 to the August 6th Planning Commission Hearing, Moved by Butch White,
Seconded by Pamela Edens.
Vote: Motion carried by unanimous roll call vote (summary: Yes = 7).
Yes: Butch White, Elijah Hatch, Michael Biwer, Michael Palizzi, Michael Wailes, Pamela Edens, Skip
Holland.
The Chair asked the public if there were other items of business that they would like to discuss. No one
wished to speak.
The Chair asked the Planning Commission members if there was any new business to discuss. No one
wished to speak.
Meeting adjourned at 1:35 p.m.
