OFFICIAL BONDS.
The Board then proceeded to examine the official bonds of the County and
Precinct Officers now in force as required by law, and the sureties thereon being deemed
ample and sufficient on motion they were ordered approved.

MF'NT OF JUDGES OF ELECTION.
It appearing to the Board that W. L. Petrikin and W. W. Kennedy
of Precinct No . 38 and Thomas Morgan of Frie Precinct No. 8 are unable to serve on the
Board of Registry and Judges of election of• their respective precincts and the Board wishing
to fill all vacancies , acting under section 1) Page 58 Election laws of 1904 on motion
ordered that H . H. Bills and S . a. Fuller of Election Precinct No . 38 and Charles Allow
of Frie Precinct No. 8 be and they are hereby appointed as Judges to fill the vacancies
caused by the resignation of the above named parties .

A petition signed by I . A. Whitman, William Clegg and James
Lee and numerous others praying for .the laying out of a road 60ft . ' in width and the abandon-
ment of County Road No . 383 as follows , viz : --
Commencing at Quarter corners of Sections 32 and 29 Tp. 5 N. R. 66 thence running
South along one half section line one mile to the center of the south side of said
' section 32. --Said Road to be sixty feet in width.
Your petitioners further pray that the present County Road r,Anning North and
(� south throuth the East Half of the West '-: alf of section 32, Tp. 5 N. , R. 66 be vacated
0 and abandoned, said road being known as County Road No . 383 .
was presented to the Board when the following action was taken aiA entered of record, to-wit:
It appearing to the Board that the right of way for said road has been donated by the
' owners of the land adjoining same, and the Board fully believing that the public good role
quires the laying out of said road, on motion it was ordered that the prayer of the peti-
t iwners be granted and that the right of way as within described by and the same is hereby
declared a public highway. It was also further ordered that County Road No . 383 running
` , through the center of the East Half of the W. i of Sec . 32, Tp. 5 N. , R. 66 West be vacated
and abandoned. The Clerk is directed to record the petition, plat the road as granted, and
vacate the old road No . 383 or as much thereof as runs through the E . of W. section 32--5-
66 and notify the road overseer of the proper district to open the new road to travel at

IN VIE MATTER of CORRECTION IN FRANCHISE OF GEORGE J , SPEAR,
NOW
ASSIGNED TO THE GREELEY & NORTHERN RAILWAY & UTILITY CO .
George J . Spear, as President of the Greeley & Northern Railway & Utility Co . , appeared
before the Board add asked for an amend ent of said franchise as hereinafter set forth in the
resolution following .
Whereupon the following resolution was offered by Commissioner Rea and its adoption
moved by him, viz : --
WHEREAS, on the 7th day of October, 1903 , there was passed and adopted by this Board
a certain resolution granting to George J . Spear certain rights of way over public roads in
Weld County, Colorado , for the construction, maintenance and operation of an electric railway
upon certain terms and conditions in said resolution and franchise contained; and
WHEREAS, since October 7 , 1903, said grant and right of way so given to said George J .
Spear has been assigned to The Greeley & Northern Railway & Utility company, a Colorado cor-
poration; and,
WHEREAS, among other conditions mentioned in said grant or franchise, in connection with
filing of map showing lines of road to be occupied and affidavit accompanying the same , inter
anal we. s the following :
►' And that adequate capital to construct and equip ten miles of such Electric rail-
way is in the treasury thereof either in cash Or notes of solvent subscribers pay-
able during the year 1905, "
AND, WHEREAS, it is now desired by said The Greeley & Northern Railway & Utility Company
that said language and condition be stricken from said original grant and_ franchise ; ;,
NOW, THEREFORE, Be it Resolved that said request be granted and that said language and
condition be stricken from said original grant of right of way or franchise .
The motion to adopt said resolution was seconded by Commissioner Wattenberg.
After full discussion by the Board the motion to adopt said resolution was put to a vote
and the same unanimously carried.

was issued by mistake in payment of the same claim as Warrant No . 7248 , and that warrant No .
7248 has been paid and cancelled, therefore it was on motion ordered that Warrant No . 7534
be and the same is hereby cancelled and held for naught .

In compliance with the provisions of Sec-
tion 3, Chapter 103, Session Laws of 1895, it was on motion ordered that there shall be paid to
the proper authorities of the several incorporated Cities and Towns within the County of Weld
Eight per centum (8 ) of all taxes collected for road purposes from the tax rolls of 1904, upon
all taxable property located within the corporated limits of said cities and towns .
IN THE MATTER OF PETITIONS

The following petitions praying for the correction and abatement of cer—
tain assessments and taxes , reasons therefor being fully set forth therein, coming on for con-
sideration and after carefully investigating the claims of each petitioner and being fully ad-
vised in the premises , the Board on motion ordered that action be taken upon each petition as

In the Matter of Petitions
For Abatement of Taxes .
The following petitions praying foe the correction and abatement of
certain assessments and taxes , reasons therefor being fully set forth therein, coming on for
consideration and after carefully investigating the claims of each petitioner and being
fully advised in the premises , the Board on motion ordered that action be taken on each
petition as follows , viz : --
W. H. Davis Granted a rebate of taxes for the year 1903 4 Erroneous assessment
on Personal property on a valuation of ;r 900.
W. H. Davis Granted a rebate of taxes for the year 1903 °;‘ Erroneous assessment
on personal property on a valuation of $F230.
Butchers Bond of John Allison in the penal sum of 0000 • was presented, and after care-
fully examining same and being fully advised in the premises , on motion ordered that it "e
approved and placed on file.
IN THE MATTER OF CONSTABLE FOR
JUSTICE PRECINCT No . 3 .
The resignation of Frank Fowler as Constable` of Justice Precinct do .
3 was presented ar_d after carefully investigating same and the Board being fu- ly advised in
the premises , on motion ordered that same be accepted and placed on file.
A petition signed by J . J. Thornton and numerous others was then presented praying - for
the appointment of John Sansom to fill the vacancy above stated and after carefully looking
into the matter , the Board on motion ordered that the prayer of the petitioners be granted,
and that John Sansom be and he is hereby appointed to said office to fill the vacancy caused
by the resignation of Mr . Fowler , resigned; provided that he will furnish the necessary bond
as required by law.

A. M. McC1enahan and numerous other citizens and tax payers of Weld County appeared before
the Board and asked that they make an appropriation of 250 . for the purpose of collecting;
data to advertise the great resources of Weld County through the Colorado State Realty As-
sociation by the lectures of Gilbert McClurg wi' ile in the east . After listening to argument
by many of them and the Board fully believing that the County and all the residents and tax
payers living therein will derive more or less benefit by the same, on motion the following
resolution was unanimously passed and adopted, viz : --
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, that they
herewith appropriate the sum of 050 . for the purpose of advertising through the Colorado
State Realty Association by Gilbert McClurg in his lectures the resources of said Weld
County. Provided that said association will furnish good and reliable assurance that said
money will be used for the purpose intended and none other : Said 250. to be paid to said

The following petitions praying for the correction and abatement of certain assessments
and taxes , reasons therefor being fully set forth therein, coming on for consideration and
,after carefully investigating the claims and being fully advised in the premises , on motion it
was ordered that action be taken on each petition as follows , viz : --
C . H . Ramsay Granted a rebate of taxes for the year 1903 % Erroneous assessment
on Sections 5 and 9--7--67 on a valuation of $1280 .
Lillian Klug Granted a rebate of taxes for the year 1903 % Erroneous assessment
on the N .E .* Sec . 7--4--63 on a valuation of 0900 .

William Mayher, Manager of the Greeley Power and Light Company appeared before the Board
;57 and made the proposition to furnish to the Weld County Court House , The Greeley Hospital and
l the County Hospital Electric Light , all night service , at the rate of $60 . 00 per month; after
discussing the matter for some little time and believing that the proposition was a very rea-
sonable one , on motion of Commissioner Wattenberg and seconded by Commissioner Rea the same
was put to a vote and was carried unanimously, with the understanding that said Electric Light
Company are to build all lines and make all connections at their own expense .

IN THE MATTER OF PETITION
OF JACOB OSTER.
Jacob Oster appeared before the Board and presented his petition praying for
an abatement and correction of certain assessments on Improvements, his reasons therefor
being fully set forth therein, after due consideration and the Board being fully advised in
the premises it was on motion ordered that he be granted a rebate on improvements on a valu-
ation of $160. 00, same amounting in taxes to $3 . 68.
. The following claim was then presented, examined and on motion approved and a warrant
ordered drawn for the respective amount allowed, viz : --
