Maintaing the quality of the drinking water is one to the most critical functions of the laboratory. Lab is certified by the Colorado Department of Public Health & Environment for Coliform and E. Coli in the Federal Safe Drinking Water Act. Currently lab contracts with about 77 municipalities, water districts and private businesses to perform compliance sampling and testing. Our trained lab staff collect and analyze the municipalities' water for chlorine residual and total coliform/E.coli bacteria (POTABILITY) staff also collect samples for WC homeowners who request well water testing for potability along with other chemistry testing requested by the homeowner. Also, the lab collects almost 400 samples monthly for contract drinking water and gravel pits also additional sample collections each month are private requests, seasonal samples (ski lakes, quantitative) and VOC program -continually growing -currently about 90 residents. Water chemistry testing instruments are: ION Exchange Chromatography, Chromatography (IC) — test Fluoride, Nitrate, Nitrite, Chloride and Sulfate Graphite Furnace Atomic Absorption (GFAA) — tests Lead, Copper, and several more metals. Gas Chromatography -Mass Spectrophotometry (GC -MS), Gas Chromatography -Flame Ionization Detection — tests Voc and TTHM 1555 N. 17th Avenue Greeley, CO 80631 Phone: (970) 304-6410 weldhealth.org uw.a' Public Health,.
