The total USR permit area is 85.17acres. • Mining will begin in Phase 1 and move from east to west. A slurry wall will be constructed prior to exposing groundwater and Phase 1 mining will continue from east to west until mining is completed for the first reclaimed reservoir. Weed control will be provided by mowing, disking, and spraying during the mining and reclamation of the property. Reclamation Plan — Reclamation will occur as mining progresses leaving 3:1 slopes for the finished reservoirs (same as the mining slopes). A traffic study and site distance evaluation have been completed by STS. The pit traffic will not require any additional lanes and the site distance is acceptable for the types of vehicles at the intersection per COG criteria. Traffic into and out of the pit can be accommodated by the improvements. The maximum traffic will include 200 semi trucks (25 ton), 50 tandem dump trucks (16 ton), 20 passenger vehicles, and 5 mechanic/fuel truck/delivery vehicles per day. • Haul route will be from the access on to 8th Street going east or west. • Scale House is going be located on the interior of the mine. Groundwater modeling has also been completed. The model shows that impacts will not be greater than an increase of 24 inches near the slurry wall down to 6 inches on the west and north and side of the property and a decrease of 12 inches near the slurry wall down to 6 inches on the south and east side of the property.
