I am a new business owner and did not know about declaring personal property for tax purposes. Weld County Assessors office has been sending this information to me via our physical address (which we do not even have a mailbox for and have NEVER listed as a mailing address at the local, state, or federal level) and we did not receive this information IN ANY CAPACITY. In 20221 had someone come to our physical address and serve me with a notice. This year they at least have my email correct. However, the assessed value is no where in the ball park and is astronomically above the reality. I recommend an adjustment for this abatement. Our office did not receive personal property declarations for tax years 2021 and 2022; therefore, the values for 2021 and 2022 were based on a permit received from the Town of Windsor for tenant finish. It has been brought to our attention that the permit contained elements that are considered personal property equipment but also contained real property elements including bathrooms, mechanical improvements and plumbing. I recommend adjusting the 2021 and 2022 values to account for the real property elements that were unintentionally assessed. The 2021 value contains a COVID-19 obsolescence adjustment resulting in a lower value than the 2022 value. I do not recommend adjusting to the abatement requested amount because the listing provided by the property owner with this abatement is missing equipment, specifically items from the bridal house and the leasehold improvements made to the event center.
