RE: A LIMITED EVENT PERMIT, LEP24-0001 — BENJAMIN MARMON AND
JANNA CZEPIEL
A public hearing was conducted on May 13, 2024, at 9:00 a.m., with the following present:
Commissioner Kevin D. Ross, Chair
Commissioner Perry L. Buck, Pro-Tem

Also present:

The following business was transacted:
• I hereby certify that pursuant to a notice dated May 1, 2024, and duly published May 3,
2024, in the Greeley Tribune, a public hearing was conducted to consider the request of Benjamin
Marmon and Janna Czepiel for a Limited Event Permit, LEP24-0001, for a fundraising campaign
associated with the Erie Makerspace in the A (Agricultural) Zone District. Bruce Barker, County
Attorney, made this a matter of record.
• Matt Conroy, Assistant County Attorney, requested the Board also consider a Special Event
Permit application from the Erie Makerspace as part of these proceedings.
• Eric Sheley, Department of Planning Services, presented a brief summary of the proposal
and reviewed the location, event history, and criteria met, pursuant to Section 23-18-10 of the
Weld County Code. He shared the applicant has also applied for a Special Event Permit for
alcohol sales and consumption. Mr. Sheley entered a favorable recommendation for approval.
• Janna Czepiel, applicant, introduced herself for the record and stated LEP24-0001 is for a
local event with food, beverages, and vendors that will benefit a new community space in Erie for
makers and trade skills.
No public testimony was offered concerning this matter.
• Commissioner Saine moved to approve the request of Benjamin Marmon and Janna Czepiel
for a Limited Event Permit, LEP24-0001, for a fundraising campaign in the A (Agricultural) Zone
District, based on the recommendations of Planning staff and referral agencies, with the

Conditions of Approval and Performance Standards, as amended. The motion was seconded by
Commissioner Buck and it carried unanimously.
ID Mr. Conroy stated staff has no concerns with approval of the Special Event Permit.
IR No public testimony was offered concerning this matter.
Commissioner Saine moved to approve the request of the Erie Makerspace for a Special
Event Permit and authorize the Chair to sign. The motion was seconded by Commissioner Buck
and it carried unanimously.
There being no further discussion, the hearing was completed at 9:46 a.m.
This Certification was approved on the 3rd day of June, 2024.
