RE: APPROVE APPOINTMENT AND REAPPOINTMENT TO WELD COUNTY REGIONAL
OPIOID COUNCIL
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, pursuant to
Colorado statute and the Weld County Home Rule Charter, is vested with the authority of
administering the affairs of Weld County, Colorado, and
WHEREAS, on August 23, 2022, the Weld County Regional Opioid Council was founded
through the adoption of Bylaws, which stipulate seats on said council are held for two-year terms,
and
WHEREAS, a vacancy currently exists, and the terms for said certain position will soon
expire, on the Weld County Regional Opioid Council, and
WHEREAS, the Weld County Board of Commissioners deems it advisable to affirm the
appointment of Scott K. James to said board as the Weld County Commissioner Representative,
with a term from August 23, 2022, through August 23, 2024, and
WHEREAS, the Weld County Board of Commissioners deems it advisable to reappoint
Scott K. James to said board as the Weld County Commissioner Representative, with a term to
expire August 23, 2026.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners of Weld
County, Colorado, that the appointment of Scott K. James to the Weld County Regional Opioid
Council, effective August 23, 2022, be, and hereby is, affirmed.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED by the Board that Scott K. James be, and hereby is,
reappointed to the Weld County Regional Opioid Council, with a term to expire August 23, 2026.
The above and foregoing Resolution was, on motion duly made and seconded, adopted
by the following vote on the 19th day of August, A.D., 2024.
