HOUSEHOLD HAZARDOUS WASTE GREELEY FACILITY
30 YEAR ANNIVERSARY
SEPTEMBER 16, 2024
WHEREAS, in. 1994, the Greeley Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) facility was established to
provide Weld County residents with a safe, convenient, and environmentally responsible way to
dispose of hazardous household materials; and
WHEREAS, for 30 years, the Greeley HHW Facility has served as a cornerstone of environmental
stewardship in Weld County, offering a way to properly dispose of hazardous materials and
protecting our community's air, soil, and water; and
WHEREAS, the facility has significantly contributed to public health and safety by offering
education and resources to residents, helping to reduce the potential hazards posed by toxic
chemicals in homes and neighborhoods; and
WHEREAS, the HHW Program has processed more than 10 million pounds of household
hazardous waste, and served over 137 thousand customers at the Greeley and Dacono facilities
across the past three decades; and
WHEREAS, this milestone anniversary provides an opportunity to recognize the dedication and
hard work of HHW staff and their contributions to a cleaner, safer environment and to celebrate
the Greeley HHW facility as a vital resource for our community.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT PROCLAIMED, by the Board of Weld County Commissioners, that
September 16th, 2024, be a day to celebrate the 30th Anniversary of the Greeley Household
Hazardous Waste facility and encourages all citizens to join in recognizing the facility's invaluable
service to our community.
