With over 8 years of experience, we have built a solid reputation in Weld County and are known for our high -quality work and trustworthy team. As a small, family -owned business, we differentiate ourselves from the competition by providing exceptional service and being a company that can be relied on. In the directional boring industry, our services are in constant demand regardless of economic conditions. Whenever there is a need for pipe repair or replacement, we are the go -to company that ensures the job is done correctly and fairly. Our expertise lies in tackling challenging conditions that often stump other companies, earning us a reputation that even our competitors recognize, as they often turn to us when they face difficulties with a bore. Recently, Directional Plus, LLC has relocated to a new facility in Weld County, allowing us to centralize our operations by housing all of our equipment in one place. However, this move requires us to obtain a Use by Special Review (USR) and convert our shop into a commercial building. To assist with the financial burden of obtaining the necessary building permit for the USR, we are applying for the Small Business Incentive Program. Although the costs associated with this process have been substantial, we are hoping that our longstanding presence as a reputable small business in Weld County will bolster our chances of receiving the financial support we need. I Page 1 of 11 CONFIDENTIAL Directional Plus, LLC Opportunity Problem Et Solution The directional boring industry presents various risks, particularly the potential for accidental contact with underground utilities such as gas and electric lines. Such situations can pose significant dangers and result in costly repairs. At Directional Plus, LLC, we pride ourselves on maintaining a superior safety record that surpasses that of other horizontal directional drilling (HDD) companies. Additionally, our company boasts a remarkable 100% completion record. We only undertake projects that we are confident we can execute in a safe and efficient manner, ensuring satisfaction for our valued customers. These two distinctive qualities place Directional Plus, LLC at the forefront of our competitors in the industry. Target Market The directional boring industry encompasses a range of segments and serves various markets. Here's an overview: 1. Market Size: • The global directional drilling market was valued at several billion dollars in 2020 and is projected to witness significant growth over the coming years. Factors driving this growth include increased infrastructure development, especially in urban areas, expanding oil and gas exploration activities, and the rising demand for efficient underground utility installation methods. 2. Segments: • Oil & Gas: Directional drilling is extensively used in the oil and gas industry for exploration, extraction, and production. Utilities: Directional boring is widely employed for the installation of underground utilities such as water pipelines, sewer lines, telecommunications cables, and electrical conduits. This segment includes both municipal and private projects. I Page 2 of 11 CONFIDENTIAL Directional Plus, LLC Construction: Directional drilling is utilized in construction projects for various purposes, including horizontal boring for most utilities. Telecommunications: With the expansion of telecommunications networks, directional drilling is used to lay fiber optic cables and other communication lines underground, reducing disruption to existing infrastructure and minimizing environmental impact. Renewable Energy: Directional drilling techniques are increasingly being used in renewable energy projects, such as geothermal drilling and underground infrastructure for wind and solar farms. Infrastructure Development: Directional drilling plays a crucial role in urban development projects, including the installation of drainage systems, road crossings, and other underground structures. Each segment has its unique requirements and challenges, driving demand for specialized equipment, technology, and expertise within the directional boring industry. Moreover, advancements in drilling technology, such as the development of more precise guidance systems and environmentally friendly drilling fluids, are shaping the future of the industry. Competition Current Alternatives Horizontal Directional Drilling (HDD), jack and bore, and tunneling are all methods used for installing underground infrastructure. However, they differ in their techniques, applications, and suitability for various conditions. Here are the key differences: 1. Horizontal Directional Drilling (HDD): • Technique: HDD involves drilling a borehole underground at a predetermined angle and then steering the drill horizontally to follow a prescribed path. The drilling process is guided by specialized equipment that tracks the position of the drill head and makes necessary adjustments. Applications: HDD is commonly used to install underground utilities such as pipelines, telecommunications cables, and electrical conduits beneath obstacles like roads, rivers, and buildings, without disturbing the surface. I Page 3 of 11 CONFIDENTIAL Directional Plus, LLC Advantages: HDD minimizes surface disruption, reduces environmental impact, and can navigate challenging terrain or obstacles. Directional Plus, LLC specializes in drilling solid rock formations, a capability that sets us apart from other companies. Limitations: HDD may have limitations in certain soil conditions, rock formations, or tight spaces where maneuvering the drilling equipment is difficult. 2. Auger Boring: Technique: Auger Boring, also known as Jack and Bore, involves excavating a pilot hole using a rotating auger or similar equipment, and then enlarging the hole using hydraulic jacks to push a casing or pipe through the ground. Applications: Jack and bore is often used for shorter distance installations where a straight path is feasible and there are no significant obstacles or environmental concerns. Advantages: Jack and bore can be a cost-effective method for installations in stable soil conditions with minimal surface disruption. Limitations: Jack and bore may not be suitable for installations requiring precise steering or for navigating obstacles or challenging terrain. 3. Tunneling: Technique: Tunneling involves excavating a tunnel underground using specialized equipment such as tunnel boring machines (TBMs) or manual methods like drilling and blasting. Applications: Tunneling is used to create underground passageways for transportation (e.g., subways, road tunnels), utilities (e.g., water, sewage), or other infrastructure projects. Advantages: Tunneling provides a dedicated underground space for infrastructure, avoiding surface disruption and environmental impact. Limitations: Tunneling is typically more complex, time-consuming, and expensive compared to HDD or jack and bore. It may also be limited by geological conditions or project requirements. In summary, HDD, auger boring, and tunneling each have their own advantages and limitations. The choice of method depends on various factors, including project Page 4 of 11 CONFIDENTIAL Directional Plus, LLC requirements, soil conditions, environmental considerations, and budget constraints.
