HomeMy WebLinkAbout20241808.tiffRESOLUTION RE: APPROVE EXPENDITURE AUTHORIZATION AND WORK PLAN FOR WORKFORCE INNOVATION AND OPPORTUNITY ACT (WIOA) QUEST RECOVERY DISLOCATED WORKER GRANT (DWG), AND AUTHORIZE CHAIR PRO-TEM, DEPARTMENT OF HUMAN SERVICES, AND WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT BOARD TO SIGN WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, pursuant to Colorado statute and the Weld County Home Rule Charter, is vested with the authority of administering the affairs of Weld County, Colorado, and WHEREAS, the Board has been presented with an Expenditure Authorization and Work Plan for the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) Quest Recovery Dislocated Worker Grant (DWG) between the County of Weld, State of Colorado, by and through the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, on behalf of the Department of Human Services, and the Colorado Department of Labor and Employment, commencing September 26, 2022, and ending August 31, 2024, with further terms and conditions being as stated in said expenditure authorization and work plan, and WHEREAS, after review, the Board deems it advisable to approve said expenditure authorization and work plan, a copy of which is attached hereto and incorporated herein by reference. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, that the Expenditure Authorization and Work Plan for the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) Quest Recovery Dislocated Worker Grant (DWG) between the County of Weld, State of Colorado, by and through the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, on behalf of the Department of Human Services, and the Colorado Department of Labor and Employment, be, and hereby is, approved. QUEST DWG focuses on serving individuals whose employment has been negatively impacted by the pandemic, including individuals from historically marginalized and underserved populations who have been disproportionately impacted. ESWC has identified the need for further funding in the community for QUEST grant services. The Colorado Department of Labor & Employment has, in response, issued a Work Plan and Expenditure Authorization approving additional funding in the amount of $20,000 ($18,000 program/$2,000 admin) for this need.
