WELD COUNTY LONG-TERM CARE
RESIDENTS' RIGHTS MONTH
OCTOBER 2024
WHEREAS, the Board of Weld County Commissioners respects the rights of the nearly 750
individuals living in eight nursing homes and more than 900 individuals living in 23 assisted
living facilities in Weld County; and
WHEREAS, all residents should be aware of their rights so they may be empowered to live with
dignity and self-determination; and
WHEREAS, the Weld County Long -Term Care Ombudsman Program will be commemorating
Residents' Rights Month with the theme "The Power of My Voice," which emphasizes self -
empowerment and recognizes the power of residents being vocal about their interests, personal
growth, and right to live full, enriching lives.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT PROCLAIMED, the Board of Weld County Commissioners, that
October be known as Weld County Long -Term Care Residents' Rights Month.
