RE: REGULATING, WARNING, AND GUIDING TRAFFIC DURING EXTENSION OF
TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF COUNTY ROAD 4 BETWEEN COUNTY
ROADS 41 AND 45 FOR APPROXIMATELY AN ADDITIONAL ONE (1) WEEK, FOR
UNANTICIPATED DELAYS DUE TO ADDITION OF FLOW -FILL CONCRETE
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, pursuant to
Colorado statute and the Weld County Home Rule Charter, is vested with the authority of
administering the affairs of Weld County, Colorado, and
WHEREAS, pursuant to C.R.S. §42-4-106(6)(a):
"...local authorities, with their respective jurisdiction may, for the
purpose of road construction and maintenance, temporarily close to
through traffic or to all vehicular traffic any highway or portion
thereof for a period not to exceed a specified number of work days
for project completion and shall, in conjunction with any such road
closure establish appropriate detours or provide for an alternative
routing of the traffic affected...", and
WHEREAS, on the 22nd day of April, 2024, pursuant to said statute and upon the basis
of traffic and personnel investigations, the Board determined that conditions exist which made it
necessary to temporarily close County Road 4, between County Roads 41 and 45, to through
traffic and to regulate, warn and guide vehicular traffic by posting signs thereon, with said closure
being effective April 29, 2024, for approximately six (6) weeks for a bridge re -deck, and
WHEREAS, on the 13th day of May, 2024, pursuant to said statute and upon the basis of
traffic and personnel investigations, the Board determined that conditions existed which made it
necessary to extend said temporary closure of County Road 4, between County Roads 41 and 45,
with said extended closure being effective April 29, 2024, for approximately an additional
eight (8) days through June 14, 2024, for unanticipated delays due to completion of a second
bridge, and further, that standard official traffic control devices shall be erected at said closure
giving notice of the restrictions, and
WHEREAS, on the 10th day of June, 2024, pursuant to said statute and upon the basis
of traffic and personnel investigations, the Board has determined that conditions exist which make
it necessary to extend said temporary closure of County Road 4, between County
Roads 41 and 45, with said extended closure being effective June 14, 2024, for approximately an
additional one (1) week through June 21, 2024, for unanticipated delays due to the addition of
flow -fill concrete, and further, that standard official traffic control devices shall be erected at said
closure giving notice of the restrictions.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of County Commissioners of Weld
County, Colorado, deems it necessary to regulate, warn and guide vehicular traffic on County
roads and any intersections thereof, and it hereby authorizes and orders the posting of such traffic
control devices as shall be reasonably necessary to regulate, warn and/or guide traffic thereon
for the safety of the general public and that said traffic control devices shall conform to the Federal
Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County,
Colorado, does declare and establish that the closure of County Road 4, between County
Road 41 and 45, be, and hereby is, extended, with said extended closure being effective June 14,
2024, for approximately an additional one (1) week through June 21, 2024, for unanticipated
delays due to the addition of flow -fill concrete, and further, that standard official traffic control
devices shall be erected at said closure giving notice of the restrictions.
The above and foregoing Resolution was, on motion duly made and seconded, adopted
by the following vote on the 10th day of May, A.D., 2024.

Weld County Public Works is requesting permission to extend the closure on WCR 4 between WCR 41
and WCR 45 from the original closure dates of 4/29/24 thru 6/14/24 to 4/29/24 thru 6/21/24 due to adding
flow -fill concrete to the project.
