Weld County Department of Public Health and Environment Second Floor Hearing Room 210 & via Microsoft Teams The Weld County Board of Health met on July 23, 2024, at 9:00 a.m. in the second -floor hearing room of the Weld County Department of Public Health and Environment and by via Microsoft Teams. Those present included: Board Members: Tom Cope, Doug Printz, Aron Lam, Lonnie Ford, Linda Kautz, Bree Lukens, and Jeff Reck. Others: Katie Sall and Lauren Light from Environmental Health, Dan Parkos Environmental Health Specialist, Yasmin Chouaf, Environmental Health Intern, Weld County Department of Public Health and environment. APPROVAL OF AGENDA The meeting was called to order at 9:00 AM. A motion was made by Aron Lam to approve the agenda. Tom Cope seconded the motion, and the motion was carried unanimously. APPROVAL OF MINUTES The board approved the minutes of the June 25, 2024, meeting. A motion was made to approve by Tom Cope, Aron Lam seconded the motion and the motion was carried unanimously. ADMINISTRATIVE REPORT: No report given. VARIANCE REQUEST: SP -2400111 — request for septic absorption area to be within 100 feet from two existing onsite water wells. A motion was made by Aron Lam to move variance request to August's BOH hearing given applicant time to submit required documentation not received from Environmental Health Services. Bree Lukens seconded the motion, and the motion was carried unanimously. Biosolids Renewal: Denali Water Solutions — Katie Sall presented 10 biosolid renewal applications. No public comment or concerns were received. Environmental Health recommends approval. DS -200667, DS -200813, DS -200814, DS -200816, DS -200819, DS -200820, DS -200821, DS -200823, DS -200824 and DS -201319. A motion was made by Tom Cope to approval the renewals. Aron Lam seconded the motion, and the motion was carried unanimously. Some of the unacceptable waste include appliances, tires, biological waste, electronics, explosive materials, marijuana containing waste, medicines, or regular trash. Greeley location also offers a Drop -n -Swap program the lsth Tuesday and the 3rd Thursday of the month, this product reuse program includes car products, pain, fertilizers, stains, weed killer, camping fuel and many other hazardous products that can be used by the public. The program also offers a VSQG program for business, this program is by appointment only and the waste has to be weld county generated, it benefits local companies to get rid of hazardous materials they are allowed to dispose 2200 lbs a year/ 2001bs a month. Staff Discussion: Lauren Light mentioned that a tire disposal event is scheduled for August 3, 2024, for all Weld County residents, online registration is required, residents will be allowed to dispose 4 passenger vehicle tires.
