HomeMy WebLinkAbout20250140.tiffMINUTES WELD COUNTY COUNCIL March 18, 2024 The Weld County Council met in regular session in full conformity with the Weld County Home Rule Charter at 6:30 p.m., Monday, March 18, 2024, at the Weld County Administration Building, 1150 0 Street, Greeley, CO. ROLL CALL: El The meeting was called to order by President Nancy Teksten. Councilmembers Elijah Hatch, Cindy Beemer, James Welch and Trent Leisy were present, constituting a quorum of members. Also present was Council Secretary Linda Kane. APPROVAL OF AGENDA : Councilmember Hatch made a motion to approve the agenda, seconded by Councilmember Welch and carried. APPROVAL OF DOCUMENTATION: Approval of February Minutes Councilmember Beemer made a motion to approve the February minutes, seconded by Councilmember Leisy, and the motion carried. REVIEW PROGRAM: There was none. PUBLIC COMMENT: There was no public comment. OLD BUSINESS: Discuss Salary Setting Process Councilmember Beemer said it would be helpful to establish a process to gather necessary data for evaluating salaries. She said a work session would likely be necessary prior to salary setting. Having established guidelines would make salary setting more efficient. Councilmember Welch said there currently are no guidelines when it comes to setting salaries for elected officials. He said having guidelines would make the process much smoother. Setting guidelines would be a public -facing process. Salaries for commissioners will be set in the fall with other elected officials' salaries being set in two years. See Addendum 1. Councilmember Hatch made a motion to adopt the process of establishing guidelines for salary setting, it was seconded by Councilmember Leisy and carried unanimously. NEW BUSINESS: Discuss Rescheduling the June Meeting Councilmember Hatch made a motion to reschedule the June meeting from June 17 to June 24, it was seconded by Councilmember Leisy and carried. 2025-0140 There were none. Coordinator Reports/Councilman Reports Bills Councilmember Hatch made a motion to approve bills, it was seconded by Councilmember Welch and carried.
