HomeMy WebLinkAbout20243093.tiffPROCLAMATION EATON REDS DAY NOVEMBER 25, 2024 WHEREAS, the Eaton Reds softball team defeated the University Bulldogs to win its third straight Class 3A state championship at Aurora Sports Park on October 26th, 2024; and WHEREAS, an explosive first -inning, led by sophomores Emma Anderson and Bria Foster who each hit a home run, propelled the Reds to a hard-fought 8 to 6 title victory; and WHEREAS, fellow sophomore pitcher, Johanna Galvan, pitched a complete game while also recording five strikeouts. The effort helped Eaton earn its fourth state championship in the past five years and fourth consecutive 20 -win season; and WHEREAS, Eaton softball is a dynasty, and it's something worth celebrating. Hard work and determination were reflected in the success the Reds have experienced this season as a team, and five All -State First Team award winners demonstrate the individual determination of this group. The traits utilized by team members this season will undoubtedly help them achieve bigger goals later in life. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT PROCLAIMED by the Board of Weld County Commissioners that the 25. day of November 2024, be known as Eaton Reds Day. We congratulate players, coaches and parents on a special season capped by another state championship. We are grateful to celebrate your victory on this day, together. Scott K.
