RE: APPROVE APPOINTMENT OF ELIZABETH RELFORD AS INTERIM DIRECTOR OF
WELD COUNTY DEPARTMENT OF PLANNING SERVICES
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, pursuant to
Colorado statute and the Weld County Home Rule Charter, is vested with the authority of
administering the affairs of Weld County, Colorado, and
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners, in accordance with Section 4-4 of the
Weld County Home Rule Charter, shall appoint the Director of the Weld County Department of
Planning Services, and
WHEREAS, by Resolution 2012-2851, dated October 8, 2012, the Board of County
Commissioners appointed Tom Parko as Director of the Department of Planning Services, and
WHEREAS, because of a desire by the Board of County Commissioners for a change in
leadership in the Department of Planning Services, and consequent reassignment of Mr. Parko's
work duties, the Board of Weld County Commissioners deems it advisable to appoint
Elizabeth Relford, as Interim Director of the Weld County Department of Planning Services,
effective January 8, 2024.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners of Weld
County, Colorado, that Elizabeth Relford, be, and hereby is, appointed as the Interim Director of
the Weld County Department of Planning Services, effective January 8, 2024.
The above and foregoing Resolution was, on motion duly made and seconded, adopted
by the following vote on the 8th day of January, A.D., 2024.
