Box A Greeley, CO 80632 RE: SFY 2024-2025 Core Services Program Allocation Dear Jamie Ulrich, Congratulations, your SFY 2024-2025 Core Services Plan has been approved. As a reminder, Core Services Program funds are to be used for the prevention of out -of -home placement of children, to reunite children in out -of -home placement with their permanent families, and/or to prevent further involvement in child welfare. Funds may not be used to pay for out -of -home placement and is always the payer of last resort. Counties will not be reimbursed if other funding sources are available, per CDHS Volume 7, 7.414(B)(3). Core Services Program funds can be used for the delivery of Program Area Three (PA3) services, outlined in CDHS Volume 7, 7.200.1-15. Funds allocated to Special Economic Assistance, Mental Health Services, and Substance Abuse Treatment may be directed to other Core Services programs. Underutilization may be seen in these areas due to increased coverage of mental health and substance services through Medicaid and private insurance. If you submitted a Core II Plan and were overspent in your SFY 2023-2024 allocation, you will be notified in a separate letter regarding the status of available Core II Plan funding.
