Gentlemen:
Recently there have been complaints of trash and other foreign substances
deposited or thrown on or along the County roads and highways.
Colorado Revised Statutes '63, 13-5-82 provides in part as follows:
"(1) No person shall throw or deposit upon any highway
any glass bottles, glass, stones, nails, tacks, wire,
cans, or any other substance likely to injure any person,
animals, or vehicle upon such highway.
(2) Any person who drops, or permits to be dropped or
thrown, upon any highway or structure any destructive
or injurious material or lighted or burning substance
shall immediately remove the same or cause it to be
removed.
(3) Any person removing a wrecked or damaged vehicle from
a highway shall remove any glass or injurious substance
dropped upon the highway from such vehicle." , and
Colorado Revised Statutes '63, 40-18-41 provides:
"(1) It shall be unlawful for any person to dump or leave
trash or garbage on any public property or along any
public highway in the state;
Now, therefore, any violation of the above Statutes is punishable as a mis-
demeanor and any person or persons convicted thereof may be subject to a
fine up to $100.00 or a jail sentence or both.
