Home My WebLink About660239.tiffa: RESOLUTION WHEREAS, it has been again brought to the attention of the Board of County Commissioners that certain materials, equipment and supplies are being purchased without requisitions and approval of the Board; and, WHEREAS, in many cases, the materials, equipment and sup- plies are in the Court House, Weld County Nursing Home, Warehouse, County Shops, etc.; being used before the Board of County Commissioners are informed; and, WHEREAS, chapter 36-1-9 to 36-1-12 of the Colorado Revised Statutes 1963 clearly point out that the power of purchase is with the Board of County Commissioners; and, WHEREAS, requisitions must be completed and filed with the County Commissioners for their approval for, otherwise, the person acting contrary to this procedure may have said purchase price deducted from the salary of the employee; and, WHEREAS, this procedure has been pointed out time and time again, to -wit: (1) By Resolution by the County Commissioners - January 13, 1948. (2) By Resolution by the County Commissioners - January 11, 1955. (3) By letter from Ann Spomer - December 17, 1962. (4) By letter from the County Commissioners - May 8, 1963. (5) By Resolution by the County Commissioners - May 19, 1965; and, WHEREAS, inasmuch as this requisition procedure is not new and is required by Colorado Statute, NOW, THEREFORE, be it resolved that any attempts to make purchases without requisitions and approval of the Board of County Com- missioners will be refused and not paid and the Board will no longer ratify such purchases.
