Hergert, Route 2, Box 306-A, Greeley, Colorado, has requested permission for expansion of a feedlot operation on the following described property, to -wit: A tract of land located in the Northwest Quarter (NW;71.) of Section Seventeen (17), Township Six (6) North, Range Sixty-six (66) West of the 6th P.M. , Weld County, Colorado, containing 20 acres, more or less, and WHEREAS, the said requested expansion of an existing feedlot operation is located in an agricultural zone as set forth by the Weld County Zoning Resolution, and WHEREAS, according to Section 3. 3 (3) (c) of the Zoning Resolution of Weld County, said feedlot operation or any expansion thereof may be authorized on the approval of the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, and WHEREAS, the Weld County Planning Commission by Resolution dated May 21, 1969, has recommended that expansion of this feedlot operation be approved; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that Donald E. Hergert, Route 2, Box 306-A, Greeley, Colorado, is hereby authorized to expand an existing feedlot operation on the following described property, to -wit: A tract of land located in the Northwest Quarter (NW,'-) of Section Seventeen (17), Township Six (6) North, Range Sixty-six (66) West of the 6th P.M., Weld County, Colorado, containing 20 acres, more or less, and as provided by Section 3. 3 (3) (c) of the Zoning Resolution of Weld County, Colorado. However, this feed lot could possibly be con— strued as a farm feed lot rather. than a commercial feed lot and not impose the 660' restrictions. I would suggest you attend the Commissioner's meeting regarding this. The Planning Commission was of the opinion the Commissioner's should decided the defini— tion of this particular feed lot. One drawing is a scale of the existing corral arrangement and the other drawing is of the proposed expansion. The Hergert Land & Cattle Co. is a family owned corporation. Because of rising costs we are forced to expand our operation. The purpose for expanding the feeding entity is to have a market for our crops. The expansion program may extend over a period of three or four years. The expansion will include the construction of an office, a work shop, additional corrals, remodeling of the existing elevator, extending the existing silage pit and rearranging the roads in the yard area.
