Gentlemen:
Recently there has been complaint of trash and other for-
eign substances deposited or thrown on or along the County roads
and highways.
The Statutes of the State of Colorado provide in part as
follows:
"(1) No person shall throw or deposit upon any highway any
glass bottles, glass, stones, nails, tacks, wire, cans, or any
other substance likely to injure any person, animal, or vehicle
upon such highway.
(2) Any person who drops, or permits to be dropped or
thrown, upon any highway or structure any destructive or injur-
ious material or lighted or burning substance shall immediately
remove the same or cause it to be removed.
(3) Any person removing a wrecked or damaged vehicle from
a highway shall remove any glass or other injurious substance
dropped upon the highway from such vehicle."
Now, therefore, any violation of the above is clearly punish-
able as a misdemeanor and any person or persons convicted thereof
shall be subject to a fine or jail sentence or both.

deposited or thrown on or along the country roads and highways. These law
violations create a hazard to vehicles using the roads as well as giving an
unsightly appearance to the countryside. For these reasons, we are requesting:
(1) No person shall throw or deposit upon any highway any glass bottles,
glass, stones, nails, wire, cans or any other substance likely to injure any
person, animal or vehidle upon such highway. This will also include any trash
being hauled to the dump.
(2) Any person who drops or permits to be dropped or thrown upon any
highway any destructive or injurious material or lighted or burning substance
shall immediately remove the same or cause it to be removed.
(3) No dumping of trash in barrow pits.
(4) Persons to refrain from discing and/or plowing barrow pits which
tends to prevent proper drainage.
Any violation of the above is clearly punishable as a misdemeanor and
any person or persons convicted thereof shall be subject to a fine or jail sentence
or both.
