RE: APPROVE INSTALLATION OF TRAFFIC CONTROL DEVICES ON WELD COUNTY
ROADS 19 AND 10
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, pursuant to
Colorado statute and the Weld County Home Rule Charter, is vested with the authority of
administering the affairs of Weld County, Colorado, and
WHEREAS,the Weld County Department of Public Works has recommended to the Board
that a "25 MPH" speed limit sign be installed and that the "Stop Ahead" sign be replaced with a
"Curve" sign on Weld County Road 19 near the approach of Weld County Road 8; and that "Stop
Ahead" and "Stop" signs be placed on Weld County Road 10 at Weld County Road 19, to ensure
safety to the traveling public, and
WHEREAS, the Board has determined that said traffic control devices are necessary for
the protection of the general public.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners of Weld
County, Colorado, that the Department of Public Works be, and hereby is, directed to install a
"25 MPH" speed limit sign and replace the "Stop Ahead" sign with a "Curve" sign on Weld County
Road 19 near the approach of Weld County Road 8; and install "Stop Ahead" and "Stop" signs on
Weld County Road 10 at Weld County Road 19, for the safety of the general public, and said signs
shall conform to the State manual and specifications.
The above and foregoing Resolution was, on motion duly made and seconded, adopted by
the following vote on the 27th day of September, A.D., 1995.

Subject: Traffic Control Devices for WCR 19 at WCR 18 & WCR 10
The County is paving WCR 19 between Hwy 52 and WCR 2. Once the construction is finished,
it will establish WCR 19 on that portion of the road to be "through" road.
This would facilitate the removal of the "stop ahead" and "stop" signs on WCR 19 approaching the
intersection of WCR 8. For the safety to the traveling public, the existing stop sign on WCR 19 at
the intersection WCR 8 should be removed. If this "stop" sign is removed, a speed limit sign of
25 MPH will need to be installed due to the curve of the road. In addition,the "stop ahead" sign for
the same approach be removed and replaced with a "curve" sign.
At the intersection of WCR 19 and WCR 10,a"stop ahead" sign and a"stop" sign needs to be placed
on WCR 10 for the approach to WCR 19.
Attached is a diagram of the intersection in question.
I recommend these changes be made according to the attached diagrams to protect the safety of the
traveling public. All signing will conform to the Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices.
