Box 459 CGreeley, Colorado 80632 O (303) 353-3840 COLORADO February 14, 1996 d E n r. OE FEB 1 61996 Mr. Bruce Barker L. WELD COUNTY Weld County Attorney ATTORNEY'S OFFICE, 915 10th Street Greeley, CO 80631 Dear Mr. Barker: One of the precincts we have established for the Presidential Primary Election contains 1451 registered voters. The maximum allowed is 1500 registered voters. The precinct is 18210. The polling place is the Mead Town Hall. We need to divide this precinct. Section 1-5-103 of the Colorado Election Code requires this change in boundaries be completed at least twenty-nine days prior to Caucus. This is one day prior to the Presidential Primary Election. We will leave the precincts as established for this election. The following meets and bounds describe the precinct as it will be for the Presidential Primary Election: ORIGINAL PRECINCT: WELD COUNTY PRECINCT 18210 shall comprise that area bounded by the following described lines: Commencing at the intersection of Weld County Road One and the Great Western Railroad; thence North to the Little Thompson River; thence Easterly to Weld County Road Forty-Two at approximately Weld County Road Five; thence East to Weld County Road Seven; thence North to the Little Thompson River; thence Easterly to Interstate Highway Twenty-Five, also known as Weld County Road Nine; thence South to Weld County Road Forty- Two; thence Easterly to the Union Pacific Railroad; thence Southwesterly to Weld County Road Thirty-Six and one-half; thence West to Weld County Road Seventeen; thence Southerly to Weld County Road Thirty, also known as State Highway Sixty-Six; thence East to the St. Vrain Creek; thence Southwesterly to Weld County Road Thirteen; thence North to Weld County Road Twenty-Eight; thence West to Weld County Road Seven; thence South to Weld County Road Twenty-Six; thence West to the Great Western Railroad; thence Westerly along the Great Western Railroad to its intersection with Weld County Road One, being the point of beginning. 960244.. Above precinct to be divided as follows: WELD COUNTY PRECINCT 18210 shall comprise that area bounded by the following described lines: Commencing at the intersection of Weld County Road One and Weld County Road Thirty-Four; thence North to the Little Thompson River; thence Easterly to Weld County Road Forty-Two at approximately Weld County Road Five; thence East to Weld County Road Seven; thence North to the Little Thompson River; thence Easterly to Interstate Highway Twenty-Five, also known as Weld County Road Nine; thence South to Weld County Road Forty- Two; thence Easterly to the Union Pacific Railroad; thence Southwesterly to Weld County Road Thirty-Six and one-half; thence West to Weld County Road Seventeen; thence South to Weld County Road Thirty-Four; thence West along Weld County Road Thirty-Four to its intersection with Weld County Road One, being the point of intersection. The polling place for 18210 will remain at the Mead Town Hall. WELD COUNTY PRECINCT 18227 shall comprise that area bounded by the following described lines: Commencing at the intersection of Weld County Road One and the Great Western Railroad; thence North to Weld County Road Thirty-Four; thence East to Weld County Road Seventeen; thence Southerly to Weld County Road Thirty, also known as State Highway Sixty-Six; thence East to the St. At this time, we would also like to establish the Mead Elementary School as the polling place for precinct 18227. By dividing the precinct at Weld County Road 34, precinct 18210 will contain 748 registered voters and the new precinct, 18227 will contain 694 registered voters. A map is enclosed to show the two precincts. Sincerely, tl J.A. "Suki" Tsukamoto Weld County Clerk & Recorder enclosure a:Asplitpol 960244 Hello
