DOCKET NO. 97-14
The Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, will conduct a public
hearing at 9:00 a.m., on Monday, March 17, 1997, in the Chambers of the Board of County
Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, Weld County Centennial Center, 915 10th Street, First
Floor, Greeley, Colorado, for the purpose of considering an amendment to the Weld County
Comprehensive Plan, Ordinance No. 147-K ("Comprehensive Plan").
The amendment consists of replacing "Important Wildlife Habitat Areas Map 5" of the Weld
County Comprehensive Plan with the "Potential for Impact to Wildlife Habitat Map" found on Page
1 of the Colorado Division of Wildlife, House Bill 1041, Significant Wildlife Habitat Maps, Weld
County, Colorado, July 1996. Use of the proposed map in conjunction with the reference materials
submitted for the record will provide the user with improved graphics and more detailed information
regarding sensitive wildlife areas in Weld County. The proposed amendment will be consistent with
existing and future goals, policies, and needs of the County.
All persons in any manner interested are requested to attend said hearing and may be
heard. Should any interested party desire the presence of a court reporter to make a record of the
proceedings, in addition to the taped record which will be kept during the hearing, the Clerk to the
Board shall be advised in writing of such action at least five days prior to the hearing. The cost of
engaging a court reporter shall be borne by the requesting party. Please contact the Clerk to the
Board's Office at phone (970) 356-4000, Extension 4226, or fax (970) 352-0242 prior to the day
of the hearing so that reasonable accommodations can be made if, in accordance with the
Americans with Disabilities Act, you require special accommodations as a result of a disability in
order to participate in this hearing.

OF ORDINANCE NO. 147, WELD COUNTY COMPREHENSIVE PLAN ORDINANCE
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF THE
COUNTY OF WELD, STATE OF COLORADO:
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of the County of Weld, State of
Colorado, pursuant to Colorado statute and the Weld County Home Rule Charter, is vested with
the authority of administering the affairs of Weld County, Colorado, and
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners has the power and authority, under
the Weld County Home Rule Charter and Article 28 of Title 30, CRS, to adopt planning goals
and policies for the unincorporated areas of the County of Weld, and
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, has
previously adopted Ordinance No. 147, Weld County Comprehensive Plan, establishing a
comprehensive revision of the planning goals and policies for the unincorporated areas of the
County of Weld and has adopted amendments in Ordinance No. 147-A through No. 147-J, and
WHEREAS, the Weld County Planning Commission has recommended revisions to the
Comprehensive Plan, and
WHEREAS, extensive reference materials, specifically publications from the Colorado
Division of Wildlife, Colorado's Little Fish, published June, 1985, and House Bill 1041 Significant
Wildlife Habitats Maps, July 1996, were submitted to be part of the record in this matter, and
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County hereby finds and
determines that there is a need for revision to certain portions of the Comprehensive Plan for
the County of Weld, and that this Ordinance is for the benefit of the health, safety, and welfare
of the people of Weld County.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Board of County Commissioners of the
County of Weld, State of Colorado, that the Weld County Comprehensive Plan be, and hereby
is, amended as follows:
1. The "Potential for Impact to Wildlife Habitat Map" found on Page 1 of the
Colorado Division of Wildlife's, House Bill 1041, Significant Wildlife Habitat Maps, Weld County,
Colorado, July 1996, replaces Important Wildlife Habitat Areas, Map 5" of the Weld County
Comprehensive Plan for the following reasons:
A. The existing wildlife habitat map is in need of revision as proposed. The
proposed map was produced in 1996 by the Colorado Division of Wildlife. The new map, when
used in conjunction with the reference materials submitted for the record, will provide the user
with improved graphics and more detailed information regarding sensitive wildlife areas in Weld
County.
B. The proposed amendment will be consistent with existing and future
goals, policies, and needs of the County.
BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED by the Board, if any section, subsection, paragraph,
sentence, clause, or phrase of this Ordinance is for any reason held or decided to be
unconstitutional, such decision shall not affect the validity of the remaining portions hereof. The
Board of County Commissioners hereby declares that it would have enacted this Ordinance in
each and every section, subsection, paragraph, sentence, clause, and phrase thereof
irrespective of the fact that any one or more sections, subsections, paragraphs, sentences,
clauses, or phrases might be declared to be unconstitutional or invalid.
NOTICE
PURSUANT to the Weld County Home Rule Charter, Ordinance No. 147-K published
above, was introduced and, on motion duly made and seconded, approved upon first reading
on March 17, 1997. A public hearing and second reading is scheduled to be held in the
Chambers of the Board, First Floor Hearing Room, 915 10th Street, Greeley, Colorado 80631,
on the 31 st day of March, 1997. All persons in any manner interested in the reading of said
Ordinance are requested to attend and may be heard.
