RE: APPROVE AMENDMENT TO INTERGOVERNMENTAL AGREEMENT AND
AUTHORIZE CHAIR TO SIGN - CITY OF GREELEY
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, pursuant to
Colorado statute and the Weld County Home Rule Charter, is vested with the authority of
administering the affairs of Weld County, Colorado, and
WHEREAS, the Board has been presented with an Amendment to the Intergovernmental
Agreement between the County of Weld, State of Colorado, by and through the Board of County
Commissioners of Weld County, on behalf of the Sheriffs Office, and the City of Greeley, with
terms and conditions being as stated in said amendment, and
WHEREAS, after review, the Board deems it advisable to approve said amendment, a
copy of which is attached hereto and incorporated herein by reference.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners of Weld
County, Colorado, that the Amendment to the Intergovernmental Agreement between the County
of Weld, State of Colorado, by and through the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County,
on behalf of the Sheriff's Office, and the City of Greeley be, and hereby is, approved.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED by the Board that the Chair be, and hereby is, authorized
to sign said amendment.
The above and foregoing Resolution was, on motion duly made and seconded, adopted
by the following vote on the 23rd day of November, A.D., 1998.

AMENDMENT TO INTERGOVERNMENTAL AGREEMENT
THIS AMENDMENT TO INTERGOVERNMENTAL AGREEMENT is made this 2I" day
of h,,,n,� . 199,, by and between the CITY OF GREELEY, COLORADO, a home rule
muni pality �rganized under the laws of the State of Colorado (hereinafter referred to as the
"CITY"), and the COUNTY OF WELD, a body corporate and politic of the STATE OF
COLORADO (hereinafter referred to as the"COUNTY").
WITNESSETH:
WHEREAS, on December 22, 1992, the CITY and the COUNTY entered into and
Intergovernmental Agreement for the purpose of consolidating the evidence operations of the Weld
County Sheriff's Office and the Greeley Police Department, and
WHEREAS, said the term of said Intergovernmental Agreement was from January 1, 1993,
to and until December 31, 1993, and has been automatically renewed each year since then, and
WHEREAS,Paragraph 11 of said Intergovernmental Agreement states that COUNTY agrees
to pay CITY the sum of$25,800 each year for the services provided by CITY pursuant to the terms
of said Intergovernmental Agreement, and
WHEREAS,the parties agree that said sum should be increased to $34,750 annually in order
to cover increased cost associated with the provision of said services.
NOW, THEREFORE, in consideration of the mutual promises and covenants contained
herein,the parties hereby agree to amend the Intergovernmental Agreement by deleting Paragraph
11 and adding the following, with said amendment to become effective January 1, 1999:
11. In consideration for the acceptance,'processing, and storage of County
evidence/property by the Greeley Police Department,the County agrees to pay the City the amount
of$34,750,payable on an annual basis beginning January 1, 1999.
All remaining provisions of said Intergovernmental Agreement shall remain the same.

Subject: Greeley/Weld Evidence Amendment
During the budget process in June of 1998, I attended a work session with Capt. Jack Statler of
the Greeley Police Department. We discussed the need to add an evidence clerk to their staff to
accommodate the increase of handling evidence. It was determined the cost of adding this
position would cause an increase in our current agreement. The amendment reflects the total cost
for 1999 and should hold current for several years. This amount is $34,750 annually.
