Before approving the request, the board decided to request a meeting with Chief Judge William West and Court Administrator Mary Bohlender. They want to discuss the following two issues: 1) space allocation and location of the proposed center and, 2) the responsibility for operational costs. Dust Control Road Spraying on Weld County Road 21: Frank Hempen, Dave Becker, John Pickle, Jeff Stoll, Bruce Barker The board received a letter from Larry Johnson regarding road spraying for dust control on Weld County Road 21. Public Works submitted a draft response for board approval, but the commissioners requested staff to rewrite the letter. The letter should not state that it is the prerogative of the local residents to provide dust control but that the county permits it only on roads with sufficient average daily traffic counts. It should not infer that the county expects the road to become a safety hazard once dust control is applied. The letter should assure people that the road will be graded as soon as necessary. Public Works also needs to provide an information sheet to those people applying dust control. The sheet should explain the county's policy on grading the road following the application. When the county determines the road is getting close to needing to be graded, the applier will be advised ahead of time. cc: Commissioners County Council Don Warden Bruce Barker Frank Hempen Dave Becker John Pickle Jeff Stoll Judy Griego Pat Persichino Hello
