Home My WebLink About961261.tiff RESOLUTION RE: APPROVE INSTALLATION OF TRAFFIC CONTROL DEVICES ON WELD COUNTY ROAD 13 AT WELD COUNTY ROAD 24 WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, pursuant to Colorado statute and the Weld County Home Rule Charter, is vested with the authority of administering the affairs of Weld County, Colorado, and WHEREAS, the Weld County Department of Public Works has recommended to the Board that "Stop Ahead" and "Stop" signs be installed on Weld County Road 13 at Weld County Road 24, creating a four-way stop at said intersection, to ensure safety to the traveling public, and WHEREAS, the Board has determined that said traffic control devices are necessary for the protection of the general public. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, that the Department of Public Works be, and hereby is, directed to install "Stop Ahead" and "Stop" signs on Weld County Road 13 at Weld County Road 24, creating a four-way stop at said intersection, for the safety of the general public, and said signs shall conform to the State manual and specifications. A traffic study has since been completed, and it indicated that the accident history meets the MUTCD warrants to place 4-way stop signs. The following is in reference to the Manual on Uniform Traffic control Devices, Section 2B-6. An accident problem, as indicated by five or more reported accidents of a type susceptible of correction by a multi-way stop installation in a twelve month period. Such accidents include right and left turn collisions as well as right angle collisions.
