Weld County Centennial Center First Floor Assembly Room The Weld County Board of Health met February 25, 1997, at 9:00 a.m. in the First Floor Assembly Room of the Weld County Centennial Center. Those present included: Board Members: Ben Slater, Chair; Constantin Skoumbourdis, Melvin Brown, Ann Garrison, Mary Ellen Stoll, Nancy Fichter, Lanny Clary,, and Frank Torsleff. Others: John S. Pickle, Director of Weld County Health Department; Judy Nero, Office Manager, Weld County Health Department; Jeffery L. Stoll, Director, Environmental Protection Services, Weld County Health Department; Leslie Bangert, Supervisor Health Promotion, Weld County Health Department; Kelly Hoime, Health Education Specialist, Weld County Health Department; and Pam Smith, Environmental Protection Specialist, Weld County Health Department. APPROVAL OF AGENDA A motion was made by Constantin Skoumbourdis to approve the agenda with the following changes: 1) Engineer Design H. Moark Production is canceled 2) Francis Construction, Inc. should be Francis Constructors, Inc. Mary Ellen Stoll seconded the motion, and the motion was carried unanimously. APPROVAL OF MINUTES Mary Ellen Stoll made a motion to approve the January 28, 1997, meeting as submitted. Constantin Skoumbourdis seconded the motion, and the motion was unanimously. NEW BOARD MEMBER Ben Slater introduced Frank Torsleff as the new board member. ADMINISTRATIVE REPORT John Pickle, Director of Weld County Health Department informed the board members of the new Health Department building. The building will be located north of Greeley with the other county offices. He gave an update on the i5D5 Bill, the Medical Manage Care Bill, and the Solid Waste Bill. Judy Nero gave a overview of the revenue & expenditure summaries from January 1, 1996 to December 31, 1996. Leslie Bangert and Kelly Hoime gave a presentation on Community Health Assessment Organization. These community assessment projects have been established in Johnstown, Windsor, Hudson, Wattenburg, and New Raymer. Kelly is now working in the northeast area to organize more community assessment projects. Jeff Stoll spoke about the lead survey, which will be held in March. Children three and under will be tested for lead. This will be in the north and east 11'7 970705 Board of Health Minutes Page 2 areas of Greeley. Another project he spoke about was the Weld County Waste Tire Clean-up and Recycling Project. A grant was applied for to fund this project. Jeff also spoke about a DIA noise task force meeting he and Leslie Bangert will attend. NEW BUSINESS ENGINEER DESIGNS: Francis Constructors Inc. (SP-9700016) 4001 North Valley Drive, Longmont, Colorado -- A motion was made by Constantin Skoumbourdis to approve the Engineer Design as presented. Ann Garrison seconded the motion, and the motion was carried unanimously. Jaguar Enterprises (SP-9600440 & SP-9700029) (care taker home) 4750 WCR 11, Dacono and (office & shop) 4750 WCR 11, Dacono, Colorado -- A motion was made by Constantin Skoumbourdis to approve the Engineer Design as presented. Ann Garrison seconded the motion, and the motion was carried unanimously. Briggsdale School (SP-9600022) 415 Leslie Street, Briggsdale, Colorado -- A motion was made by Constantin Skoumbourdis to approve the Engineer Design as presented. Ann Garrison seconded the motion, and the motion was carried unanimously. Plumb Construction, Inc. (SP-9600488) 121 Hunters Cove, Longmont, Colorado -- A motion was made by Constantin Skoumbourdis to approve the Engineer Design as presented. Ann Garrison seconded the motion, and the motion was carried unanimously. Reeves, Greg (SP-9600598) 16126 WCR 96, Nunn, Colorado -- A motion was made by Constantin Skoumbourdis to approve the Engineer Design as presented. Ann Garrison seconded the motion, and the motion was carried unanimously. Segura, Floyd (SP-9600169) North of 625 Lincoln, Nunn, Colorado -- A motion was made by Constantin Skoumbourdis to approve the Engineer Design as presented. Ann Garrison seconded the motion, and the motion was carried unanimously. Young, Tom (SP-9600321) 9485 WCR 15, Longmont, Colorado -- A motion was made by Constantin Skoumbourdis to approve the Engineer Design as presented. Ann Garrison seconded the motion, and the motion was carried unanimously. Harmon, Kevin (SP-9700032) 3535 WCR 7, Erie, Colorado -- A motion was made by Constantin Skoumbourdis to approve the Engineer Design as presented. Ann Garrison seconded the motion, and the motion was carried unanimously. Ann Garrison gave a motion to adjourn, Mary Ellen Stoll seconded the motion, the motion was carried unanimously.
