GROVER RESIDENT JOYCE SMOCK
APPOINTED TO FILL VACANCY
ON WELD COUNTY COUNCIL
Grover resident Joyce Smock was chosen from six applicants to fill the vacancy
in District I on the Weld County Council. The vacancy was created when retiring
Council President Judy Curtis chose not to run for reelection and no person petitioned
to run for the District I seat in the 1998 election.
Ms. Smock is a Weld County native having lived all her life in the Grover area.
She has served as a member of Weld County's Energy Impact Assistance Board since
1994. She has been a business education teacher for 21 years.
Also currently serving on the Weld County Council are: President Dan Oster of
Kersey, Vice President Al Roberts of Mead, Councilman Dwaine Kurtz of Greeley, and
Councilman Rob Masden of Hudson, CO.
