HomeMy WebLinkAbout690266.tiffRESOLUTION WHEREAS, the Northern Colorado Feeder Pig Co-operative, of Pierce, Colorado, a Colorado corporation, has requested permission to locate a commercial confined hog farrowing operation on the following described property, to -wit: A parcel of land located in the West Half of the Southwest Quarter of the Southwest Quarter (WzSW4SW4) of Section Twenty-two (22), Town- ship Eight (8) North, Range Sixty-six (66) West of the Sixth Principal Meridian, Weld County, Colorado, containing 10.00 acres, more or less, and WHEREAS, the Weld County Planning Commission has approved this request by Resolution, and WHEREAS, the said requested business location is in an agricul- tural zone, as set forth by the Planning Commission of Weld County, and WHEREAS, according to Section 3. 9 (5) and 3. 10 of the Zoning Resolution of Weld County, said commercial confined hog farrowing oper- ation may be authorized upon the approval of the Board of County Commi- ssioners; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Northern Colo- rado Feeder Pig Co-operative, of Pierce, Colorado, is hereby authorized to operate a commercial confined hog farrowing operation on the following described property, to -wit: A parcel of land located in the West Half of the Southwest Quarter of the Southwest Quarter (W+SW+SW4) of Section Twenty-two (22), Town- ship Eight (8) North, Range Sixty-six (66) West of the Sixth Principal Meridian, Weld County, Colorado, containing 10.00 acres, more or less, and as provided by Section 3. 9 (5) and 3.10 of the Zoning Resolution of Weld County, Colorado. An Executive meeting was held by the Weld County Planning Commission, Monday, August 18, 1969 at 12:00 o'clock at the Post 'N Pike. Roll call was as follows: J. SUBJECT: H. Gordon Howard lawsuit DISCUSSION: Mr. Telep reported the lawsuit filed by Mr. Howard has been dismissed. SUBJECT: State Planning Commission COMMENT: Kathy Zollar was ill and could not attend the meeting as planned. SUBJECT: Complaint on "Poodle Parlor" being operated by Mr. and Mrs. Poukash. COMMENT: Report by Dave Moore and Glen Paul referred to Mr. Telep. SUBJECT: Boa operation near Pierre. COMMENT: Mr. Billings reported on Sat. they had taken a good share of the people complaining about this operation to the Ft. Collins area where there are similar confined operations. There was no odor. Mr. Billings felt it would be impossible to get any smell in the town of Pierce. There will be 6000 feeder pigs a year. Felt there was no reason why the operation wouldn't be an asset to the area. Mr. Telep suggested having the Town Board of Pierce make a recommendation to the Commissioners before a resolution is drawn up. Members concurred this would be in order. Mr. Billings stated when the letter is written asking for a recommendation, also ask if there are any conditions they want imposed. SUBJECT: Meeting in Dallas - Sept. 25 & 26 COMMENT: Mr. Bartels stated the meeting is very worth while and suggested Mr. Telep and some of the Planning Commission members attend. SUBJECT: Greeley Business and Development Foundation. COMMENT: Mr. Gill stated he is attending in behalf of the Foundation.to learn what the Planning Commission is doing and report to them. This is to offer what help they can in coordinating the activities of the Planning Commission and the Foundation.
