Home My WebLink About971306.tiff RECORD OF PROCEEDINGS MINUTES BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS WELD COUNTY, COLORADO JULY 14, 1997 TAPE #97-18 The Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, met in regular session in full conformity with the laws of the State of Colorado at the regular place of meeting in the Weld County Centennial Center, Greeley, Colorado, July 14, 1997, at the hour of 9:00 a.m. ROLL CALL: The meeting was called to order by the Chair and on roll call the following members were present, constituting a quorum of the members thereof: Commissioner George E. Baxter, Chair Commissioner Constance L. Harbert, Pro-Tem - EXCUSED Commissioner Dale K. Hall Commissioner Barbara J. Kirkmeyer - EXCUSED Commissioner W. H. Webster Also present: County Attorney, Bruce T. Barker Acting Clerk to the Board, Carol A. Harding Finance and Administration Director, Don Warden MINUTES: Commissioner Webster moved to approve the minutes of the Board of County Commissioners meeting of July 9, 1997, as printed. Commissioner Hall seconded the motion, and it carried unanimously. CERTIFICATION OF HEARINGS: Commissioner Webster moved to approve the hearings conducted on July 8, 1997, as follows: 1)Violation Hearings; and July 9, 1997, as follows: 1) Special Review Permit#1150 for a commercial use (residential child care facility) in the A (Agricultural) Zone District, Kenneth Littlefield and Jay Littlefield / Children's ARK. Commissioner Hall seconded the motion, which carried unanimously. ADDITIONS: Presentation of Fair Books to Board by the Weld County Fair Royalty was added after Commissioner Coordinator Reports. CONSENT AGENDA: Commissioner Hall moved to approve the consent agenda as printed. Commissioner Webster seconded the motion, and it carried unanimously. COMMISSIONER COORDINATOR REPORTS: There were no reports given. 971306 BC0016 PRESENTATIONS: PRESENTATION OF FAIR BOOKS TO BOARD BY THE WELD COUNTY FAIR ROYALTY: Emily Maifield, Queen, Nicole Wisehart,Attendant, and Allison Weber, Princess, presented Weld County Fair Books to the Board and invited the Commissioners to attend the fair which will be held July 30 through August 5, 1997. PUBLIC INPUT: No public input was offered. WARRANTS: Carol Harding, Finance and Administration, presented the following warrants for approval by the Board: All Funds $ 1,025,868.66 Commissioner Webster moved to approve the warrants as presented by Ms. Harding. Commissioner Hall seconded the motion, which carried unanimously. BUSINESS: NEW: CONSIDER SETTLEMENT AGREEMENTS AND RELEASE OF ALL CLAIMS AND AUTHORIZE CHAIR TO SIGN -OCM LITIGATION: Bruce Barker, County Attorney, presented three Settlement Agreements concerning the OCM Litigation case, in the total amount of $47,000. Mr. Barker indicated approximately five percent, or $2,350 will be paid to Weld County. Commissioner Hall moved to approve said agreements and authorize the Chair to sign. Seconded by Commissioner Webster, the motion carried unanimously. CONSIDER REQUEST FROM VEGETATION MANAGEMENT SPECIALIST TO ENTER UPON CERTAIN LANDS: Commissioner Hall moved to approve said request. The motion, which was seconded by Webster, carried unanimously. CONSIDER TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF WELD COUNTY ROAD 72 BETWEEN WELD COUNTY ROADS 41 AND 43: Commissioner Webster moved to approve said closure. Seconded by Commissioner Hall, the motion carried unanimously. CONSIDER TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF WELD COUNTY ROAD 19.5 BETWEEN WELD COUNTY ROADS 34 AND 38: Commissioner Webster moved to approve said closure. Seconded by Commissioner Hall, the motion carried unanimously. RESOLUTIONS AND ORDINANCES: The resolutions were presented and signed as listed on the consent agenda. There were no ordinances.
