RE: APPROVE AMENDMENT TO LAW ENFORCEMENT SERVICE AGREEMENT AND
AUTHORIZE CHAIR TO SIGN
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, pursuant to
Colorado statute and the Weld County Home Rule Charter, is vested with the authority of
administering the affairs of Weld County, Colorado, and
WHEREAS, the Board has been presented with an Amendment to Law Enforcement
Service Agreement between the County of Weld, State of Colorado, by and through the Board
of County Commissioners of Weld County, on behalf of the Weld County Sheriff, and Town of
Severance, commencing January 1, 1997, with further terms and conditions being as stated in
said amendment, and
WHEREAS, after review, the Board deems it advisable to approve said amendment, a
copy of which is attached hereto and incorporated herein by reference.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners of
Weld County, Colorado, that the Amendment to Law Enforcement Service Agreement between
the County of Weld, State of Colorado, by and through the Board of County Commissioners of
Weld County, on behalf of the Weld County Sheriff, and Town of Severance, be, and hereby is,
approved.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED by the Board that the Chair be, and hereby is, authorized
to sign said amendment.
The above and foregoing Resolution was, on motion duly made and seconded, adopted
by the following vote on the 15th day of January, A.D., 1997, nunc pro tunc January 1, 1997.

AMENDMENT TO LAW ENFORCEMENT SERVICE AGREEMENT
THIS AMENDMENT TO LAW ENFORCEMENT SERVICE AGREEMENT is made
and entered into this ? day of January, 1997, by and between the County of Weld, a political
subdivision of the State of Colorado, and the Weld County Sheriff, by and through the Board of
County Commissioners of the County of Weld, whose address is P.O. Box 758, 915 10th Street,
Greeley, Colorado 80632, hereinafter referred to as "County," and the Town of Severance,
Colorado, whose address is P.O. Box 122, 336 First Street, Severance, Colorado 80546,
hereinafter referred to as "Severance."
WITNESSETH:
WHEREAS, on December 7, 1995, the parties hereto entered into a Law Enforcement
Service Agreement, wherein County contracted to provide various law enforcement services to
Severance through its Sheriff's Office, and
WHEREAS, Schedule C to said Law Enforcement Service Agreement states in paragraph
4 of said schedule that "the maximum cumulative total that Town(Severance) may be billed for
the service during the term of this fiscal agreement is $12,000," and
WHEREAS, the parties hereto now desire to amend said Schedule C to set said
"maximum cumulative total that the Town may be billed for service during the term of this fiscal
agreement" at $20,000.
NOW, THEREFORE, in consideration of the mutual promises and covenants contained
herein and in the original Law Enforcement Service Agreement between parties dated December
7, 1995, the parties hereto agree to amend said Law Enforcement Service Agreement as follows:
1. Paragraph 4 of Schedule C to said Law Enforcement Service Agreement shall
read: "For the maximum cumulative total of that Town (Severance) may be billed
for service during the term of this fiscal agreement is $20,000."
2. All other provisions set forth in said Law Enforcement Service Agreement shall
remain in full force and ffect.
