RE: APPROVE CONTRACT EXTENSION FOR RADON EDUCATION PROGRAM AND
AUTHORIZE CHAIR TO SIGN
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, pursuant to
Colorado statute and the Weld County Home Rule Charter, is vested with the authority of
administering the affairs of Weld County, Colorado, and
WHEREAS, the Board has been presented with a Contract Extension for the Radon
Education Program between the County of Weld, State of Colorado, by and through the Board
of County Commissioners of Weld County, on behalf of the Weld County Department of Public
Health and Environment, and the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment,
commencing March 1, 1999, and ending October 31, 1999, with further terms and conditions
being as stated in said contract extension, and
WHEREAS, after review, the Board deems it advisable to approve said extension, a
copy of which is attached hereto and incorporated herein by reference.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners of
Weld County, Colorado, that the Contract Extension for the Radon Education Program between
the County of Weld, State of Colorado, by and through the Board of County Commissioners of
Weld County, on behalf of the Weld County Department of Public Health and Environment, and
the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment be, and hereby is, approved.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED by the Board that the Chair be, and hereby is, authorized
to sign said extension.
The above and foregoing Resolution was, on motion duly made and seconded, adopted
by the following vote on the 24th day of May, A.D., 1999, nunc pro tunc March 1, 1999.

SUBJECT: Extension of Radon Awareness Program Contract
Enclosed is a contract between the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment and
Weld County Department of Public Health and Environment for the provision of community-
based radon education. This contract was approved by the Board in April of this year.
We have requested and the State has agreed to change the time line for completion of the services
designated in the contract from June 30, 1999 to October 31, 1999. There will not be any
changes in the financial terms of the contract. We recommend this extension to October 31,
1999.
