Enclosed, please find our bond #5908090 Effective 10/17/97 which replaces bond
#773113 (filed under the name of Snyder Oil Corporation) for the above mentioned
insured.
Please send written confirmation that you have accepted the replacement bond and issue a
release on bond #773113 so that we can forward to the surety for cancellation.

PRIOR LIABILITY ASSUMPTION RIDER

Prior Bond No. 773113
In consideration for any additional premium charged for this rider and
the acceptance of this rider by Weld County, Colorado, the undersigned
principal and surety hereby agree to extend the coverage of this bond
to assume all liability which has accrued under the above identified
prior bond. This includes the responsibility to properly plug and
abandon any and all wells drilled under the prior bond, to perform
related surface restoration, and to pay outstanding rentals or
royalties due on lease(s) covered under the prior bond, so long as the
principal retains an interest in or is operator on the lease(s) . This
assumption shall continue whether or not any covered lease subsequently
expires, terminates, is relinquished or cancelled. Provided, however,
that this rider shall not act to increase the actual cumulative or
potential liability of the surety above the face amount of the bond, to
wit: Twenty Five Thousand Dollars and No/100---($25,000.00) . Provided
further that nothing in this assumption shall serve to limit the
principal's liability with respect to lease obligations that are
ultimately accrued.

RE: Bond #5908090, for the installation and construction of pipelines upon Weld County
Right of Ways.
Enclosed please find bond #5908090 in the amount of Twenty Five Thousand dollars. I am
returning this bond to you as the Public Works Department has informed this office that the bond
is no longer required. The Public Works Department does not know of any construction by Patina
Oil and Gas Corporation in Weld County Right of Ways.
I have spoken to Kristen Fox, of Safeco Insurance Company, on two occasions trying to determine
the necessity for the bond. Ms. Fox has not returned any of the phone calls after our discussions.
Please be advised that at this time the bond does not seem to be necessary. However, if you are
currently installing or constructing any pipelines upon Weld County Right of Ways, please call Don
Sommer at (970) 356-4000, Ext. 3762.
