COMPOST SITE OCT 15 1998 O ACRES CEIVED E' , NE 1/4, SEC II , T.N, R 6 , C WELD COUNTY ADDTITONAL LOCATERS ) ' RD # 12 & RD # 35 LANDSCAPE PLAN This plan best describes the required landscaping request by the Weld County Department of planning ,as part of the requirements for the USR permit for the B.O.S. S, Compost Site as aforementioned by legal description. This plan addresses the general plant life of the region. Research has further assisted the general choices of grasses that thrive in the soil and prevailing weather conditions. The grasses suggested are; Western wheatgrass (Arriba or Barton), Sand bluestem (Woodard), Switchgrass (Grenville or Blackwell), and Prairie sandreed (Goshen). These grasses will be seeded throughout the compost site in the spring of 1999. The maturity of the blends suggested is some four (4) years in duration. These grasses most especially in the recommended border area of the compost site will assist in controlling wind and eliminate in part fugitive dust and erosion. Next the tree life proposed is a choice of Russian Olive, Mountain Juniper, Eastern Red Cedar, and Caragana #5. The four tree families thrive in the soil and regional weather conditions. These will be utilized depending on availability and cost according to the Picadilly Nursery who has been chosen to supply the trees for the purposes of this landscape design. Some concern at the moment addressing the seasonal period that we are facing and the freeze conditions forthcoming. There is some chance that the trees may not B.O.S.S. COMPOST LANDSCAPE PLAN PAGE 2 survive the winter should the transplanting take place in the next two (2) months. Further this plan addresses all issues of the ten (10) acre compost site as to the dimensions and border exposure. These issues are explained as: The North side of the compost site is bordered by Weld County Rd. # 12. This area of 612' will have a clay soil berm. The clay material is hauled onto the compost site as part of the ingredient for the composting. Therefore the berm will vary in height approximately ten feet (10') with a base approximately fifty (50'). This material and berm construction can also be described as having living walls. The berm also will serve as a wind deflector and not add any additional dust to the site. The East side parallel to Weld County Rd # 35 this area of 700' will be planted with four (4) tree families. These trees will be; Russian Olive, Eastern Red Cedar, Caragana #5 and Mountain Juniper. They will be planted @ ten (10') foot intervals. They will be planted off setting in two rows as; X X X X X X X X X_ XXXX_XXXX The South Side facing Buffalo Ridge this area of 537' will be transformed by utilizing native seedless cottonwood @ 10' intervals, one (1) row. l,> )r 7/ B.O.S.S. COMPOST LANDSCAPE PLAN PAGE 3 The West side portion of 661' will be maintained by utilizing finished compost of a reasonable height. The landscaping materials will be maintained in a fashion to continue the life span by regular watering and fertilization. Around each of the trees, a reservoir will be constructed in order for the tree life to best utilize the water and fertilizers that will be applied. Water for the plant life will be applied on a regular schedule (depending on weather conditions and season) in order to maintain stability of the trees. A 3500 gallon water unit, as a special order item, created by A&W Water Works of Fort Lupton will be the form to carry the water to the landscape material. Compost site, needs some clarification. We are in the process of Mr. Croissant choosing the right material for the landscape plan on the North & East of the special review permit area. The size in ifs self is substantial. Therefore we need clarification as to the kind of material that is desired. Already the area is planted to a variety of wheat grasses and is handsome in that appearance. We are at that point that we feel all areas can be finalized as soon as this matter can be clarified and a plan drafted to meet you requirements. Thank you for all of your help in this matter. 09/28/98 19:14 TX/RX NO.2589 P.001 • Gl t, % WELD COUNTY DEPARTMENT OF PLANNING SERVICES/RUILDING INSPECTION CITIZEN INQUIRY FORM 1400 N. 17TH AVENUE, GREELEY, CO 80631 PHONE: (970) 353-6100 EXT. 3540 FAX: (970) 352-6312 'TELEPHONE U OFFICE FIRST INQUIRY? ❑ YES tNO DATE: /0 /5- /9 NAME`—'! 14 e Y -CA-Aa-N PHONE: 3C 3 ' (c:5l— `0 s1 ADDRESS: TYPE OF INQUIRY: ❑ MHZP 0 SKETCH PLAN p MINOR SUB SKETCH PLAN ❑ ZPMH ❑ PRELIMINARY PLAN 0 MINOR SUB FINAL PLAT ❑ RE 0 FINAL PLAT 0 ZONING ❑ AMENDED RE ❑ RESUBDIVISION ❑ ADDRESSING ❑ SE ❑ FHDP ❑ BUILDING PERMIT ❑ AMENDED SE p SETBACKS/OFFSETS ❑ SITE PLAN REVIEW SR ❑ HOME OCCUPATION ❑ REZONING ❑ AMENDED USR p VIOLATION ❑ PUD SKETCH PLAN ❑ USR MINING ❑ OTHER ❑ PUD DISTRICT ❑ USR MAJOR FACILITY ❑ ❑ PUD FINAL PLAT ❑ USR DISPOSAL SITE ❑ PERSONNEL ❑ Shani Eastin ❑ Gloria Dunn ❑ Todd Hodges ulie Chester ❑ Scott Ballstadt ❑ Kerri Keithley ❑ Ed Stoner ❑ Roger Vigil ❑ David Sprague ❑ Johnny Roberts 0 Jeff Reif 0 George Carroll ❑ Dennis Renley ❑ Monica Daniels-Mika 0 ITEMS /DISCUSSED: o -1114,400 0_ at_ 7-14, .-r-t-j2/11:-/t, 0_79 K ' 1 " „<„,sbei- 7/7“ in G" it /'4 Y .1 <J A [ tdcY Kam. c, Cat , < Y U rt (n 0 , IXO I Time Spent Al /YZL no Staff Member's Initials -\ citizen Hello
