Re: Update on Weld County Comprehensive Plan
The draft version of the Comprehensive Plan is almost
memo completed. To date, we plan to distribute the document to the
Planning Commission by the second week in April, enabling us to
hear the case on the May 2, 1995, Planning Commission
meeting.
After the Planning Commission makes its recommendation then
the case will be forwarded to you (the Board of County
• Commissioners) for the first reading. As with any ordinance,
there will be a total of three readings.
• Following the adoption of the revised Comprehensive Plan the
Commissioners may wish to consider if the Zoning and
Subdivision Ordinances should be revised/updated to become
compatible with the Comprehensive Plan. Staff recommends the
revision/update of these documents.
A framework for revision needs to be established. It is often
common to develop a team of in-county representative to update
an ordinance of this nature. Staff recommends that a
representatives from Public Works, Attorneys Office, Health
Department, Planning, and Sheriffs Office comprise this team.
If the Commissioners wish to have public input in the revision
process staff suggests that two members of the Comprehensive
Plan Advisory Board could be appointed. Please, advise staff of
further action or continents. Thanks .
