HomeMy WebLinkAbout992985.tiff RESOLUTION RE: APPROVE CERTIFICATION OF TAX LEVIES AND REVENUE FOR 2000 AND AUTHORIZIE CHAIR TO SIGN WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, pursuant to Colorado statute and the Weld County Home Rule Charter, is vested with the authority of administering the affairs of Weld County, Colorado, and WHEREAS, Stan Sessions, Weld County Assessor, did prepare the Certification of Tax Levies and Revenue for the County of Weld for the year 2000, to be submitted to the Colorado Department of Local Affairs, Division of Property Taxation, by the Weld County Board of Commissioners, and WHEREAS, the Board deems it advisable to approve said certification, a copy of which is attached hereto and incorporated herein by reference. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado,that the Certification of Tax Levies and Revenue for the County of Weld for the year 2000, be, and hereby is, approved for submittal to the Colorado Department of Local Affairs, Division of Property Taxation. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED by the Board that the Chair be, and hereby is, authorized to sign said certification. These services shall be performed by a combination of career and volunteer personnel. The fire district's Board of Directors has established the provision of efficient and cost effective services to their constituents the primary direction of the fire district. The district's volunteer personnel provide staffing and human resources support in emergency response and public activities support. The Board of Directors' priorities are: • To maintain existing levels of services. • To avoid increasing services unless mandated by the citizens of the district. • To keep property tax increases at or below the statutorily mandated limit. • To provide the necessary funding for long term District needs. • To enhance firefighter and citizen safety through comprehensive training, firefighter certification and awareness. health and safety programs. • To be involved in civic organizations to facilitate public awareness and support. • To promote life and property safety in the community. The district utilizes a modified accrual basis of accounting. It's fiscal year is basedon the calendar year beginning January 1 and ending December 3151 of each year. The 2000 budget was developed using input from all segments of the district's operation. The Budget Officer's responsibilities include the collection, analysis and subsequent organization of request into a budget which provides for the fair utilization of the available funds under statutory guidelines. All statutory deadlines have been met. The 2000 budget contains the use of"Reserve" funds to be appropriated for debt reduction related to capital purchases of equipment, apparatus, and building improvements.
