WELD COUNTY SHERIFF,
DR. MARK GOSSNICKLE and
WELD JAIL MEDICAL STAFF
Pursuant to the Governmental Immunity Act, C.R.S. 24-10-101, et. seq.,
notice is hereby given as follows:
1. Claimant's name and address:
Belle Lucero, 901 25st, Greeley, Co. 80631 (next of kin to Fidel Lucero,
deceased.)
2. Nature of Claim:
Failure to provide reasonable care, medical malpractice, wrongful death.
3. Employees involved:
Dr. Mark Grossnickle, guards and members of the Weld County Jail medical
staff, who worked during the period of January 20 to January 31, 1997.
4. Nature of injuries claimed:
Between January 21, 1997 and January 27, 1997, decedent Lucero, while
in the custody of the Weld County Sheriff, was given prescription
medicines which aggravated a known medical condition, resulting in his death.
5. Claimant's damages;
Damages have not been fully determined, but are in excess of$100,000.00.
