I am writing to give you early notice that Scripps Howard Cable, a subsidiary of
Comcast Cable Communications, Inc., will soon be increasing the prices of some of its
cable television services to our customers in Weld County. We expect that our new
prices will raise our typical cable customer's bill by $2.00 to $3.00, effective April 1,
1997.
This is a time of increasing costs in the media industry, as we see reflected in the price
of newspapers, video games, CD's, and the like. We face the same kinds of cost
pressures. I can assure you that we calculate our revised prices in complete
accordance with the FCC's rules.
At the same time, we are confident that we are providing our cable customers with
more value than ever before. It's a fact--across the nation, ratings for cable program
services are at their highest levels ever. Clearly our customers are getting value for
their dollar, and we are working constantly to improve that value through new program
services, more responsive customer service, and state-of-the-art technology.
We will also provide our customers with timely notice of these increases. Copies of
these notifications are enclosed.
