SUBJECT: Supplemental Funds
The Department of Public Safety, Division of Criminal Justice requested
supplemental community corrections funds for fiscal year 1998-99. The request
was made based upon written requests from the local community corrections boards
and actual expenditures during the first quarter of the fiscal year. Additional
community corrections funds in the amount of $1,216,337 have been approved by
the Joint Budget Committee and the Legislature. DCJ anticipates these funds will
be fully spent.
DCJ also has reviewed expenditures for the first seven months of the f fiscal year and
is making a re-allocation between contractors, moving funds from those areas that
are significantly underspent to those areas that are needing additional funds. The
purpose of this movement of money is to maximize the use of the total community
corrections allocation.
Bill Owens As a result of both the Supplemental distribution and the re-allocation of existing
