Gittlein Farms will utilize the stormwater runoff from the Horton Feedlot located at 15972
WCR 51, LaSalle, CO. This runoff will be utilized to irrigate%oo acres of farm land via
flood irrigation.
It is also agreed that Horton management will assist Gittlein Farms and cooperate in the
testing of stromwater and the appropriate land application methods to meet the needs and
requirements of the feedlot, minimize runoff from feedlot stonnwater applied to farm
ground, and use the feedlot stoomwater in a manner beneficial to productive farming and
the environment.

Dear Ms. Eastin:
Please be advised that Cattle Consultants LLC has acquired a 50% interest in the
Wellington and Greeley feedlots owned by Horton Cattle Companies, Inc. Horton Cattle
Companies, Inc. recently transferred its ownership to Front Range Feedlots, LLC. Front
Range Feedlots LLC is owned 50% by Horton Cattle Companies, Inc. and 50% by Cattle
Consultants, LLC.
We have read and agree to the conditions of approval as recommended by the Department
of Planning Services. We also acknowledge that Mr. Joseph A. Hoff will act as the
representative for Front Range Feedlots, LLC, Cattle Consultants, LLC, as well as
representing Horton Cattle Companies, Inc. Mr. Hoff is authorized to act on behalf of the
owners concerning any changes or additions to the conditions of approval for this USR
application.

RESOLUTION
RE: DENY REQUEST FROM HORTON CATTLE COMPANIES TO PREADVERTISE
SPECIAL REVIEW PERMIT #1152
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, pursuant to
Colorado statute and the Weld County Home Rule Charter, is vested with the authority of
administering the affairs of Weld County, Colorado, and
WHEREAS, the Board has received a request from Horton Cattle Companies, P.O.
Box 517, Eaton, Colorado 80615, for preadvertisement of an application for Special Review
Permit#1152 for expansion of an existing feedlot operation, and
WHEREAS, said property is described as the E1/2 of Section 18 and part of the NW1/4
of Section 17, Township 3 North, Range 64 West of the 6th P.M., Weld County, Colorado, and
WHEREAS, after study and review the Board deems it advisable to deny said request,
since no undue hardships have been placed upon the applicant and to provide adequate public
notice.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners of
Weld County, Colorado, that the request from Horton Cattle Companies for preadvertisement of
an application for Special Review Permit#1152 for expansion of an existing feedlot operation
be, and hereby is, denied.
The above and foregoing Resolution was, on motion duly made and seconded, adopted
by the following vote on the 7th day of May, A.D., 1997.
