Please review the materials presented in this USR application for private airstrip.
This airstrip will be used privately and during daylight hours. No commercial operations
will occur out of this strip.
Please note on the review plat map notes A and B. I am not contemplating any
building or expansion on these sites presently but should a grounds keeper become
necessary a logical place to put an additional home would be on the location noted by
note A. I would exclude this from USR now to avoid repeating the process later. The
same applies to our residence in note B if we should wish to add on to the house.

1. How is this proposal consistent with the Weld County Comprehensive Plan?
THIS PRIVATE AIRSTRIP IS CONSISTENT WITH THE AGRICULTURAL NATURE OF LAND
IN.THE AREA.
2 How does this proposal meet the intent of the zone district it is located in?
THE AIRSTRIP WILL CONTINUE AS GRASS AND WILL NOT ALTER THE EXISTING OR
FUTURE USE OF THIS AGRICULTURAL.DISTRICT. THIS USE IS SPECIFICALLY PROVIDED
BY SPECIAL REVIEW, SECTION 31.4.6 ON PAGE 30-5 OF THE WELD COUNTY ZONING
ORDINANCE. (OCTOBER 31,. 1995)
3. How is this use compatible with future development as stated in the Weld County Comprehensive
Plan? If yes, how?
THIS AIRSTRIP WILL NOT INTERFERE WITH THE EXISTING OR FUTURE AGRICULTURAL
NATURE OF THE LAND IN THE AREA.
4. What type of uses surround this site? Is this request compatible with surrounding uses?
THE SURROUNDING PROPERTY TO THE SOUTH, EAST, AND WEST IS AGRICULTURAL
WITH A DAIRY FARM ALSO TO THE WEST. TWO RESIDENCES.ARE LOCATED MORE
THAN ONE (1) MILE NORTHWEST OF THE PROPOSED AIRSTRIP. THIS AIRSTRIP WILL
NOT AFFECT THE SURROUNDING USES.
5. Is this property located within a -Flood Hazard zone, Geologic Hazard zone, or Airport Overlay zone -
and does it meet these special requirements?
NO - N/A
6. What efforts have been made to conserve productive agricultural land?
THE PRODUCTIVITY OF THIS AGRICULTURAL GRASSLAND WILL BE REDUCED
MINIMALLY.
7. How will public health, safety and welfare be protected?
THE PROPERTY FOR THE PROPOSED RUNWAY IS LARGE ENOUGH TO ALLOW FOR
SAFE TAKE-OFF AND LANDING PATTERNS WITHOUT POSING A.RISK TO PUBLIC
HEALTH, SAFETY AND WELFARE OF THE SURROUNDING NEIGHBORS OR THE GENERAL
PUBLIC.
THE FEDERAL AVIATION ADMINISTRATION (FAA) LETTER DATED OCTOBER 9, 1998
STATES NO OBJECTION TO THE PROPOSED AIRSTRIP. THE FAA SPECIFICALLY
STUDIED THE PROPOSAL WITH RESPECT TO THE SAFETY OF PERSONS AND
PROPERTY, EXISTING AND PLANNED AIR TRAFFIC PATTERNS AND EXISTING MAN-
MADE STRUCTURES WITHIN THE AREA.

THE SITE WILL BE USED AS A GRASS RUNWAY FOR SMALL SINGLE-ENGINE AIRCRAFT
OPERATED BY THE LANDOWNER FOR RECREATION AND PLEASURE.
9. How close is this site to other residential structures?
THE AIRSTRIP WILL BE 800 FEET FROM THE CLOSEST RESIDENTIAL BUILDING.
10. How many people will be employed at this site and what hours will they work?
0 - NONE
11. How many people will use this site?
THE LANDOWNER AND HIS FAMILY.
12. What type and how many animals, if any, will be on this site?
0- NONE
13. What type and how much, if any, operating and processing equipment will be utilized on site?
NEITHER OPERATING OR PROCESSING EQUIPMENT IS REQUIRED.
14. What type and how may structures will be erected (built) on this site?
ADDITIONAL STRUCTURES ARE NOT REQUIRED.

THE USE OF THE PROPOSED AIRSTRIP WILL BE FOR PRIVATE, SINGLE-ENGINE
AIRCRAFT SUITABLE-FOR GRASS RUNWAYS.
THERE IS NO REQUIREMENT FOR
ADDITIONAL VEHICLE ACCESS OFF OF THE ADJACENT COUNTY ROADS.
16. Will this site use a septic system or public sewer facilities?
NO
17. Are you proposing storage or stockpile of wastes on this site? If so, what is the size and_type
proposed?
NO

NO SUCH MATERIALS WILL BE DEPOSITED ON THE SITE.

THE SITE IS PASTURE GRASS AND REQUIRES NO IMPROVEMENT TO BE USED AS AN
AIRSTRIP.
20. Explain the proposed landscaping plans and erosion control measures associated with this site,
NO CHANGES ARE NECESSARY AS STORM WATER RUNOFF WILL NOT BE AFFECTED.
THERE IS NO LANDSCAPING PLANNED. THE AIRSTRIP IS TO BE PLACED ON PASTURE
GRASS WITH THE EXISTING CONTOUR OF THE LAND.
21. Explain any proposed reclamation procedures when termination of the Special Review use bins.
THERE IS NO CHANGE REQUIRED ON THE AGRICULTURAL PROPERTY AND NO
RECLAMATION IS/WILL BE NECESSARY TO CONTINUE FARMING OPERATIONS.
22. Explain the need for the proposed use (activity) in Weld County.
THE USE IS FOR RECREATION AND PLEASURE; AND IS NOT BUSINESS OR
COMMERCIALLY RELATED. APPLICANT STORES HIS AIRCRAFT AT THE LOVELAND -
LARIMER AIRPORT.
