FOR A SHOOTING RANGE (SHOTGUN SPORTS GUN CLUB AND PRO SHOP) IN THE
A (AGRICULTURAL) ZONE DISTRICT - GREAT GUNS (GREG REEVES AND PATTY
DEPLAZES)
A public hearing was conducted on July 10, 1996, at 10:00 a.m., with the following present:

Commissioner George E. Baxter, Pro-Tern
Commissioner Dale K. Hall
Commissioner Constance L. Harbert
Commissioner W. H. Webster
Also present:
Acting Clerk to the Board, Shelly Miller
Assistant County Attorney, Lee Morrison
Planning Department representative, Chris Goranson
The following business was transacted:
I hereby certify that pursuant to a notice dated June 24, 1996, and duly published June 27, 1996,
in the North Weld Herald, a public hearing was conducted to consider the request of Great Guns
(Greg Reeves and Patty Deplazes) to reconsider, in light of adoption of Weld County Ordinance
No. 89-FF, Development Standard #17 for Special Review Permit #1105 for a shooting range
(shotgun sports gun club and pro shop) in the A (Agricultural) Zone District. Lee Morrison,
Assistant County Attorney, made this a matter of record and explained Development Standard#17
for said Permit allowed reconsideration under its own terms. Chris Goranson, Planning Department
representative, reiterated Development Standard #17 allowed reconsideration within 30 days of
final approval by the Board of amendment to Section 45.3.1 of the Zoning Ordinance without the
requirement of additional fees. He then recommended said Development Standard be replaced
with the amended Section 45.3.1 of Ordinance No. 89-FF. Mr. Morrison recommended the
proposed language be changed to read "This Permit shall be conditioned on a requirement
that . . ." by deleting "A Special Review Permit to operate an outdoor shooting range, if approved,
may". Patty Deplazes, applicant, was present and requested the change be approved and
reflected in the Permit. No public testimony was offered concerning said matter. Commissioner
Hall moved to approve the request of Great Guns (Greg Reeves and Patty Deplazes) to amend,
in light of the adoption of Weld County Ordinance No. 89-FF, Development Standard #17 for
Special Review Permit#1105 for a shooting range (shotgun sports gun club and pro shop) in the
A (Agricultural) Zone District, to read as recommended by legal council and staff. The motion was
seconded by Commissioner Harbert, and it carried unanimously.
