RE: SHOW CAUSE FOR REVOCATION OF A SPECIAL REVIEW PERMIT (SUP #3) TO
DETERMINE WHETHER OR NOT THE COMMERCIAL HOG OPERATION IS STILL IN
EXISTENCE - BRAGG RANCH COMPANY
A public hearing was conducted on September 3, 1997, at 9:00 a.m., with the following present:
Commissioner George E. Baxter, Chair
Commissioner Constance L. Harbert, Pro-Tem - EXCUSED
Commissioner Dale K. Hall
Commissioner Barbara J. Kirkmeyer
Commissioner W. H. Webster
Also present:
Acting Clerk to the Board, Carol Harding
County Attorney, Bruce Barker
Director of Planning Services, Monica Mika
The following business was transacted:
I hereby certify that pursuant to a notice dated August 25, 1997, and mailed to Joel Kugler and
Laverne Browning, property owners, on August 28, 1997, a public hearing was conducted to
determine whether or not the commercial hog operation is still in effect and whether there is cause
for revocation of SUP #3. Bruce Barker, County Attorney, made this a matter of record. Monica
Mika, Director of Planning Services, stated that at the Probable Cause Hearing on August 25, 1997,
it was determined that all property owners except two had responded favorably to the revocation
of this Special Review Permit. Ms. Mika presented letters received from the two landowners who
had not previously responded. No public testimony was offered concerning this matter.
Commissioner Webster moved to vacate Special Review Permit (SUP #3) for a commercial hog
operation, based on the recommendations of the Planning staff. The motion was seconded by
Commissioner Hall, and it carried unanimously.
