WELD COUNTY, COLORADO

The Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, met in regular
session as the Board of Social Services in full conformity with the laws of the
State of Colorado at the regular place of meeting in the Weld County Centennial
Center, Greeley, Colorado, October 16, 1996, at the hour of 9:00 a.m.
ROLL CALL: The meeting was called to order by the Chair and on roll call the following
members were present, constituting a quorum of the members thereof:
Commissioner Barbara J. Kirkmeyer, Chair
Commissioner George E. Baxter, Pro-Tem
Commissioner Dale K. Hall
Commissioner Constance L. Harbert
Commissioner W. H. Webster
Also present:
County Attorney, Bruce T. Barker
Acting Clerk to the Board, Shelly Miller
Director of Finance and Administration, Don Warden
MINUTES: Commissioner Hall moved to approve the minutes of the Board of Social
Services meeting of October 14, 1996, as printed. Commissioner Harbert
seconded the motion, and it carried unanimously.
WARRANTS: Don Warden, Director of Finance and Administration, presented the warrants
for approval by the Board in the amount of$209,148.71. Commissioner Baxter
moved to approve the warrants as presented by Mr. Warden. Commissioner
Hall seconded the motion, which carried unanimously.

NEW BUSINESS: CONSIDER COMMUNITY FOOD AND NUTRITION PROGRAM CONTRACT
WITH COLORADO DEPARTMENT OF LOCAL AFFAIRS AND AUTHORIZE
CHAIR TO SIGN: Tony Groeger, Social Services Department, stated this
contract is for $2,420.63, which will be reimbursed by the State for nutrition
services provided through the Weld Food Bank. Commissioner Harbert moved
to approve said contract and authorize the Chair to sign. The motion was
seconded by Commissioner Webster, and it carried unanimously.
CONSIDER AMENDMENT TO EMPLOYMENT FIRST PROGRAM
INTRA-GOVERNMENTAL AGREEMENT WITH DIVISION OF HUMAN
SERVICES, EMPLOYMENT SERVICES, AND AUTHORIZE CHAIR TO SIGN:
Mr. Groeger stated this amendment is for a total of approximately $85,000.00
and will reduce the usage of food stamps. Commissioner Harbert moved to
approve said amendment and authorize the Chair to sign. Commissioner
Baxter seconded the motion, which carried unanimously.
Let the minutes reflect that the above and foregoing actions were attested to
and respectfully submitted by the Acting Clerk to the Board.
There being no further business, this meeting was adjourned at 9:15 a.m.
