HomeMy WebLinkAbout980295.tiff RESOLUTION RE: ACTION OF BOARD CONCERNING WAIVER OF TEN-DAY WAITING PERIOD FOR CONSIDERATION AND INVESTIGATION OF THE CONTRACT TRUCKS FOR HAULING AND SPREADING GRAVEL BID - PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, pursuant to Colorado statute and the Weld County Home Rule Charter, is vested with the authority of administering the affairs of Weld County, Colorado, and WHEREAS, the Department of Purchasing has requested waiver of the ten-day waiting period for the bid for the Contract Trucks for Hauling and Spreading Gravel for the Public Works Department, Bid Request No. B9800067, to allow early construction with the good weather, and WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners deems it advisable to waive the ten- day waiting period for said bid. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, that the ten-day waiting period for the bid for the Contract Trucks for Hauling and Spreading Gravel for the Public Works Department, Bid Request No. B9800067 be, and hereby is, waived. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED by the Board that the low bid for each item listed on Bid Request No. B9800067, be, and hereby is, approved. The above and foregoing Resolution was, on motion duly made and seconded, adopted by the following vote on the 18th day of February, A.D., 1998. Becker, Operations Director 0 4- Y_j • COLORADO SUBJECT Contract Trucks for Hauling and Spreading Gravel (3ggnrt:Co 7 The Weld County Public Works Department recommends that the Board of Weld County Commissioners accept the bid in the amount of$39.45 per hour from Ward Construction to contract trucks for the 1998 construction season. This is the price using Weld County fuel. If contract trucks are in a remote area and cannot use our fuel,the cost will be $48.45 per hour. If Ward Construction, for any reason, is unable to provide these trucks, the Public Works Department reserves the right to hire Western Equipment&Truck, Inc., the second low bidder, at the rate of$41.30 per hour using Weld County fuel.
