AGRICULTURAL SERVICE ESTABLISHMENT (AN EQUINE BREEDING, BOARDING,
AND TRAINING FACILITY) IN THE A (AGRICULTURAL) ZONE DISTRICT - J. FRANK
AND MARIAN HOBBS
A public hearing was conducted on July 8, 1998, at 10:00 a.m., with the following present:
Commissioner Constance L. Harbert, Chair
Commissioner W. H. Webster, Pro-Tern
Commissioner George E. Baxter
Commissioner Dale K. Hall
Commissioner Barbara J. Kirkmeyer
Also present:
Acting Clerk to the Board, Esther Gesick
County Attorney, Bruce Barker
Planning Department representative, Scott Ballstadt
Director of Planning Services, Monica Mika
The following business was transacted:
I hereby certify that pursuant to a notice dated June 10, 1998, and duly published June 24, 1998,
in the Platteville Herald, a public hearing was conducted to consider the request of J. Frank and
Marian Hobbs for a Site Specific Development Plan and Special Review Permit #1184 for an
Agricultural Service Establishment (an Equine Breeding, Boarding, and Training Facility) in the
A (Agricultural) Zone District. Bruce Barker, County Attorney, made this a matter of record. Scott
Ballstadt, Department of Planning Services representative, presented a memorandum requesting
this case be continued to July 15, 1998, due to improper notifications. He explained staff did not
post the sign on the property ten days prior to the hearing date.
Commissioner Baxter moved to continue this hearing to July 15, 1998. The motion was seconded
by Commissioner Hall, and it carried unanimously.
