CCI hopes this document will be useful information to counties and enable you to get an idea of what other counties are doing in the area of welfare reform implementation. Once you give us feedback regarding necessary revisions to the plans and upon completion of the county -state performance contracts after September 30, 1997, we will revise this draft and send out a final document to you. Please review the document with the understanding that it is intended to be a summary and obvious information (such as statutorily or state board required provisions of the Colorado Works Program) are not included. Also, since it is in summary form, I have not included assumed details provided in the interim plans such as verification of an applicant's/participant's disability and the assumption that all supportive services, additional assistance, etc., are provided with the understanding that they will contribute to work and self-sufficiency. Please review the document and provide me with any comments and suggestions for revisions you feel necessary as soon as possible. For example, some counties did not indicate whether they were taking the option to provide the statewide diversion grant program assuming it was an option they did not need to indicate in their plan in order to implement. For purposes of the interim plans, if counties plan to utilize this option, it needs to be indicated in their plan. Also, under the sanctions column, it was confusing in some cases as to whether the sanctions were for the basic assistance cash grant, other county assistance or both. For purposes of brevity, I did not include required programs still in development or already specified in statute, such as plans to reduce out -of -wedlock births, plans to address teen pregnancy, or specifying the county grievance processes. We will continue to update and finalize this document, but your feedback is important to ensure that precise and accurate information regarding your county is Pre idegohert "Chris" Christensen, Douglas County • First Vice President R.A. Arndt, Morgan County • Fourth Vice President Johnnette Phillips, Eagle County • Treasurer Barbara Kirkmeyer, Weld County b I Secretary Ed Jones, El Paso County • Past President Harold "lake" Klein, Otero County 972131 presented to other counties. Again, please fax, send or call me with any suggestion for improvement you may have. Thanks in advance for your assistance. If you have any other suggestions as to how this information can be most helpful to you, please let us know. Also, we have the county interim plans on file if you have questions concerning or would like a copy of an interim plan for a specific county. m:wfletter N C C Ii o ct N e O e a z o C 0 I U olet E a E Z d it 4. ea OTHER COUNTY ACTIVMES, CREATIVITY, AND COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT SANCTIONS FOR OTHER ASSISTANCE COUNTY OPTIONAL "OTHER ASSISTANCE" Supportive services - up to $500 per participant to assist participant in obtaining or retaining employment for: • Pre -County Works Program applicants deemed eligible for TANF funds • Participants during post - employment period for up to 3 months after beginning employment • Participants actively seeNng employment.
