A study has been completed on this section of road, which indicated eight accidents have occurred from July 1994 to present. The mode speed is 40 MPH, and the 85th percentile is 42.5 MPH. This section of road is a high volume arterial road. The speed limit in this one-mile stretch of road is implied at 55 MPH; however, one-half mile of it has curved, possibly dangerous, road. The curved section is currently controlled with curve signs and speed advisory signs to slow traffic down. The 35 MPH has been determined as a safe speed limit for the road conditions. The only exception recommended is the portion of road from approximately 1600 feet east of 1st Avenue to WCR 43. This portion is suggested to be posted at 45 MPH to keep the flow of traffic uniform. This section of road is currently posted at 30 MPH. All the above recommendations are suggested to insure the safety of the traveling public. All signing will conform to the Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices. Please see the supporting documentation attached. cc: WCR file 45 :mare\wcr45 960565 A velars L s f/C-"e'..
